not to mention, football players wear protective gear, helmets, padding and get the best personal trainers and sports doctors to treat them. Pornstars not wearing a condom is like a football player stepping onto the field with zero protective gear....or like a construction worker going to work without a hardhat, police office going without a bullet proof vest, etc. I think that if the rest of the general public needs to wear protection to protect themselves "on the job", then why should pornstars be treated any differently, ESPECIALLY if their decision not to wear a condom virtually affects every person they fuck, and every person that those people fuck and so on and so forth. :2 cents:
The analogies are for the most part wrong. While football players wear protective gear it's far from perfect. Players get hurt all the time. Just like porn has a testing system that isn't perfect. They both have their non-perfect protection systems so in that way they are the same. Just like you can't really dramatically include a lot more protective systems in football without making it a mockery of what it is, or you can't regulate how hard a boxer is allowed to punch his opponent without wreaking the sport and making it something else, not being able to do a non-condom scene is the same with porn.
As far as medical treatment, pay, professional trainers, and other things like that. It's irrelevant to the principle of the point being made. If people were arguing that pornstars should be getting paid more for what they do already, society should be valuing their work more, and they should be getting better medical treatment that might be one thing. I might even agree with a lot of that. But they aren't, and that's not the point they are arguing. That's a totally different thing from this.
As far as somebody wearing a hard hat at a job site, again the analogy is wrong. If somebody wears protective equipment while working, say building a bridge or making boxes in a factory just as an example, weather they wear a hardhat or earplugs or not has absolutely no impact on the final product. There is no reason not to wear it other than the company just wanting to cut corners and save on money. The bridge they build will be just the same either way. The protective equipment has no impact on it what is made. On something like porn it makes it so that the finally product would be
IMPOSSIBLE to make. The condom is in the scene no matter what, no matter if people like it or not, no matter if it effects the end product, no matter if it even makes sense in the context of the scene or not. It would be like requiring people in a fighting scene in a movie to never touch each other to keep them safe all the while making the creation of that scene or any scene like that totally impossible.
As far as police officers, soldiers, fire fighters and jobs like that they hold a vital function in our society that requires us to except the dangers they may face, and even then most of the protective equipment has little impact on their ability to do the job other than some comfort. How much do you want to bet that if a very effective piece of protective equipment made a violent criminal go free 80% of the time when they would have otherwise been captured when it was used in an attempted arrest of that criminal they wouldn't use it at all?
