Just one day! Well, for starters –
Disband legislation contributing to surveillance culture & erosion of civil liberties - ID cards, DNA databases etc.
Eliminate bonuses for the financial sector.
Halt the programme to replace Trident. This will save about £20 billion which could be far better spent in other areas.
Increase pay for key workers such as nurses, fireman etc.
Return to free further education, people should not be penalised for choosing to go to university.
Reduce the size of government.
Oh, & make it illegal to remove me from No10 Downing St!

MY understanding is that all of the present powers and office of the president would be in place, and it would be some other circumstances that limit your service to a day.

But what do I know? It could be that you seized control over the government in a coup and appointed yourself as dictator, and in that case you could do whatever you wanted to. However, it's dubious how much anyone would actually listen to you or do as you say, especially with only one days rule.

Remove all royalty, don't let them take any of "their" assets with them. Make civil list payments equal to the state pensions. Do away with the title "Lord." Knock out all the necessary legislation to get the second chamber all elected by PR system and then give this body some teeth when investigating the dealings within the house of commons. Devolve Scotland, Wales and let them recive benefits equal to population.
