Just pick a F1 race. It has nothing to do with skill and everything to do with which team has the biggest bank account.

Negative ghostrider. It has as much to do with skill as the make-up of the car. You can't put any idiot in an F1 car and race it.

Honestly, if you watch how the poor anmals get trained, it is a shame. Wrapping training obstacles with barbed wire, knocking them with sticks if they do not master a jump, it is a disgrace.

I think you're mistaking show jumping, which isn't a race persay (only against the clock in timed classes), with steeplechasing.

It doesn't matter what part of the horseword you look at, you'll always find people who train in an abusive and painful manner (should check out how they train horses in south america if you want disgraceful). However, if you sit down and watch the top level show jumping (or eventing/dressage) you can see these horses have the heart for it and enjoy it.
