Iconic American Brands

So I've been on a McDonalds kick for a while. I realized that it's not the food that I like. It's the brand. McDonalds is America. IMO it's the most iconic American company

This got me to thinking about other iconic brands. What are some other iconic American brands?

Coke-a-cola bottle just like in that movie The Gods Must be Crazy🍻

Ford - revolutionized car-making. Dallas Cowboys - made scoping cheerleaders a reason to attend football games. Walt Disney - huge-scale entertainment parks. Budwieser - the King of Beers.

Since Coke & Disney were already mentioned, I'll go with the tech cos: Microsoft, Apple & Google.
Also Amazon - it can't be understated how big they are in other countries.

Ford? Fixed or Repaired Daily --- Hehe. :) Better to go with General Motors.

The Oakland / Los Angeles / Oakland and now Las Vegas Raiderettes challenged the Dallas Cowgirls for cheerleader supremacy.

Speaking of huge entertainment parks, Hershey (below) and Anheuser Busch both have theme parks. Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida and in Williamsburg, Virginia for example.

Institutional Racism has to be right up there, surely.
Yes, take pancake mix and syrups. Quaker Oats (divison of Pepsico) has rebranded their Aunt Jemima brand to the Pearl Milling Company. Though Mrs. Butterworth hasn't changed their syrup bottles.

Hertz and Avis ...

Want another iconic American brand? Hershey's chocolate syrup for ice cream.

Coke, Disney, Apple, Microsoft, Nike, Marvel (althoght, technicaly, it's Disney now), McDonald's, Mars, Kellog's, Amazon, Google

I've seen people mentioning Hershey's Bud, the Dallas Cowboys. These companies are barely know in Europe

Avis, Hertz or Ford are just randoms brands in their respective activities (in 2021, the number of Wolkswagen cars sold in Europe more than doubled the number of Ford.cars sold).

Real American brands for me is McDonalds. Whatever country you go to, it will always be within walking distance. Also Google and Marvel - use a search engine to watch a movie and eat a McDonald's :)

Hershey Chocolate Syrup is so good sometimes it doesn’t make the glass or even a spoon. Just pop the top and drink it straight while standing in the open door of the refrigerator at 4AM in your underwear.

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
I thought it said bands. I was going to say "The Allman Bro's".

Of course, I guess that fits. Southern rock IS an iconic American brand. Not bad considering I've had ZERO coffee yet.

Pepsi might be an iconic US brand, but their best commercials could only be seen in Japan :ROFLMAO:

Playboy?! Pre-internet - sure. But skin mags are done with - except for amongst truckers, and pilots. All you need is internet access (including on one's phone, nowadays), to see nude pictures.

It's still an iconic American brand known worldwide even if nobody buys their magazines anymore...in China there's Playboy clothing stores with the logo on golf shirts belts socks lighters etc...nude pictures isn't the brand the logo is the brand...

Agreed. Playboy responded to the dip in print sales with a wider launch of merchandise, and successfully so. Their logo is better known now than it was when they were just a magazine.

I like American Cars & Trucks and am a proud owner of a 2014 GMC Sierra Z71 SLT. We build good full-sized trucks in America but do a shit job paving roads in LA.
