I Remember; Don't Vote Republican

Pfft he's no Centrist, he's just scared and/or ashamed to admit he is conservative. I have no idea why you call youself a centrist, I have friends that have less radical and extreme ways of thinking than you and they proudly call themselves conservatives. I think you just blame your personal problems on whatever party is in office, at this same time 5 years ago you were probably bitching and bitching on and on about Bush, and before that Clinton as well. No leader can satisfy you so you resort to childish name calling and staying in the "middle" so you can bitch about every office holder that passes by without looking like a damn hypocrite... Centrist my ass.

I lol @ the resident republicans. How much cognitive dissonance can one brain handle?

-Bitch about Obama spending but ignore Bush's record deficits.
-Complain about a "govt takeover of healthcare" but support the Patriot Act.
-Troll a porn forum while espousing conservative values.

I could go on but those illustrate the point. Problem is the speed with which it diverges from humor.

maybe because it helps delude himself into thinking he's above all the partisan BS and loyal only to his principles. :dunno:

That's probably why he has to constantly announce it to the board, what with beliefs requiring constant repetition to take hold, especially the very unrealistic ones.

Just a theory.

There are probably others but it wouldn't be a valuable use of my time to keep thinking and typing about very much anything Trident related.

These are the kinds of threads that make me want to go out and do the opposite, even if I wasn't originally going to.

Dude....is that Oscar Gamble in your avatar???

I'm picturing HR sitting in front of his TV tonight... drinking and cursing heavily... calling the same people who voted for BHO 2 years ago and changed their minds in 2010 "idiots". :)

Well, he'll know the trends pretty early so he needs to start drinking now. :1orglaugh Keep an eye on the West Virginia Senate race. If Joe Manchin (D) takes it, there is virtually no chance that the republicans gain a majority in the Senate. As far as the House goes, the key indicator will be the 8th and 9th districts in Indiana where the polls close at 6 EDT. The races there are pretty tight but thought to be leaning republican. If they both go to the GOP, expect a big gain in House seats for them tonight. If the democrats manage to win one or both of those districts, it would be a sign that the shift won't be as dramatic as some have predicted (some saying 60-plus seats) and be more like 45-50. Either way, I think the democrats take a "thumpin'" ;) tonight for obvious reasons that have been discussed here ad nauseum. We'll have a sitting democrat in the White House, a republican House and a democratic Senate. Sounds like a great recipe for 2 more years of serious gridlock and governmental inaction! :dunno::horse:

Are you referring to the fact that it is so unfathomable to you that people can come to their own informed conclusions that differ from your own? Or are you referring to the concept that there are ways, other than your own, to think and talk about policy/ideals/morals etc.?

I agree with you wholeheartedly:

No real answer in either right-wing reply to my post. No surprise there.

Bush may be gone but his party and stench remain. Must be comforting to have such short-term memory.

Healthcare and the Patriot Act are both examples of big government. You excuse the Patriot Act because republicans were in charge when it passed. Pretty pathetic to abandon principles when in power.

Freeones is a porn community and porn runs contrary to "conservatives values". I think "conservative values" are retarded to begin with. Go push your religion down someone else's throat in some other country.

I'm primarily referring to the fact that "conservatives" don't practice what they preach.

Libertarians have no solutions. They just bitch about whoever is in office. All the bitching, none of the responsibility.
