I blame Dino for inspiring this thread, though I could be wrong and yes, we need more of these. On a side note, the blood feud between you and BC is epic and full of win.
If the grease was still liquid from something you just cooked, then it sounds like it could be good. If you're saving grease and melting it like someone mentioned earlier, I'd probably puke from watching you do it. Either way, this is definitely a Swanson moment.

It was semi congealed bacon grease leftover from breakfast and I didn't feel like cleaning out the pan. It was back to liquid form within 2 minutes of firing up the burner.

That might be okay, idk. Animal grease makes me wanna gag when it's anything other than freshly cooked out liquid. It's tasty that way, but when I think of using the hardened stuff to make food with, I want to puke.
This is exactly the type of thread that we need more of around here.
I'm getting to a point in my life where a world-class ribye going into inferno hot bacon grease for just the right amount of time is something that I absolutely don't need but would love to have. 10 years ago, instead of typing this, I'd be at the all night grocery store shopping for steak and bacon. Now I think about how brown rice and cottage cheese are easy on the tummy.
I admire those that sacrifice these yummies for their health. You do it at the right time and 2-4 inches are off your gut for the rest of your life. Nutrition is a life changing thing. Food stimulates our taste, smell, and visuals. Very hard to adjust our senses considering what they have been accustomed to. Half a baked potato with boiled chicken with some spice can be just as satisfying as that fatty stuff; a chef salad too. Making that break is a conscious effort that in a short time is not such a conscious effort. I know what you are saying Mayhem. There are other options in the meal market that healthy eaters are being shut out of.
