I dont understand Phone Companies logic

Decided to upgrade my phone to a better/smarter one, so I went to the Verizon store. I'm liking the Droid 2, so I go in there seeing if I'm eligible for an upgrade, which the lady says "NO" because I'm about 4 months ahead of my upgrade and they cant waive it at all. To which they want me to pay $570 for just the phone!

Ive been a Verizon customer since 2003. Not only am I planning to buy a better phone, but I will be paying more a month than my current plan. Your telling me you cant give me the goddamn upgrade!? I don't get it :dunno:
