I understand completely, but possibly we need to look at "boredom" as a gift. Quiet and calm gives us a time to get in touch with our deepest feelings. It allows us to get in touch with what is really important. It may allow us to adjust our priorities and set new goals. I had a bad experience New Years Eve - certainly not what people would consider boring - but in the month since, in those boring times, I've had time to reflect on that experience, to feel shame and humiliation for my mistakes, and to adjust my priorities and goals. I think I'm a better person now because I had some boring time and I made good use of it.
