It's just one fuck up after another after another with this islamofascist bastard :thefinger

I took the late Ronny Reagan almost his entire 8 years to get unemployment back to a reasonable number and it was higher at the year and 8 months point of his admin than it is under Obama now.

Well yeah, but Ronny was a white guy :)

Stimulus failed.
Unemployment is roughly 10%
His economic geniuses want to raise taxes during a recession saying it will stimulate the economy.

I give him due credit for smiting the smelly Beardies over in Afgh and Pak.

However his economic train is delayed........delayed..........cancelled.

How do you know unemployment wouldn't have been much worse?

Hard to know how unemployment is performing under Obama relative to the circumstances unless we compare near like circumstances.

Unemployment was (actually) 10 pct or above under Obama for 3 months. Contrastingly it was 10 pct. or above for nearly a year under Reagan.

Reagan didn't have worry about failed banks, auto industry nor wars of bombs and bullets.

Some economist say the stimulus did exactly what it was intended to do, end the recession and it's "just wrong" to call it a failure as unemployment would have been around 11.5 pct. today. Not 9.5 pct.:hatsoff:

Can you explain why it was worse under Reagan if what Obama has done is a "failure" to you?

By the by...it is such a terrible thing for $30 billion to be added to the deficit for unemployment benes but adding another $300+ billion to the deficit and debt in tax cuts is just ooootay huh??:facepalm:

Re: 'I can't have my birth certificate plastered on my forehead': Obama responds to p

Reagan had to worry about a recession in 1982 and the high energy costs, and the Cold War off the top of my head. He did things that were stupid such as firing the ATC personel which was a huge blunder.
Whether you like it or not Mega, Obama has made mistakes and will be remembered for them like all Presidents.
As for Reagan most people agree that this country did quite well under him. I was a teenager during his Presidency and remember him as being one of this countrys finest.

Why wouldn't you remember him as one of the "finest" when GOPers constantly sing his praises and lionize him irrespective of the facts.

Reagan had inflation and 7.4 pct unemployment and it didn't get back down under 10 pct. until 2.5 years into his presidency. Fact Jack.

But I'll raise you Obama's, recession, 7.8 pct unemployment, bankrupt banking system (hard to improve unemployment and business expansion when banks can barely lend), bankrupt autos, high energy too, and troops (actually) fighting wars on two fronts.

Ya know....had Bush not fucked up so irrefutably bad, GOPers would be still trying to convince us he was one of the "finest" too.:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I remember him because I grew up in the 80s. I remember him because of his leadership during the Cold War.

I don't remember him because of Hannity or Limbaugh etc etc

Fact Jack is your Pres. better pick up his britches or he's gonna get booted out in 2012.
Fact Jack is the Mid Terms are gonna be real interesting for you liberals.

We Centrists will sit back and watch the massacre.

So did I "Try" and I can tell you I was too busy playing sports and chasing poon to think about Reagan's affect on my life or the country. I suppose you were astute enough to actually sit around appraising Reagan's job based on the facts as opposed to what the bluster was about him.

Well you remember what someone was saying about him because it's fairly doubtful you were plugged into the internet researching the facts on your own.

Obama has failed himself mainly in one way...putting the circumstances in perspective. GOPers get to whine about unemployment numbers for example when it could have been 10 pct. or higher (or worse as some have cited) for nearly a year as it was under Reagan.

GOPers get to whine about taxes when we actually pay some of the lowest taxes in US history...certainly far lower than the majority of years under Reagan.

If this were a GOPer administration they would rightly or wrongly gone back as far as they needed to in order to justify the circumstances. I think in recent history a president has only inherited circumstances like this 3 times; During the Depression, under Reagan and under Obama. It's worth it to compare and see exactly what perspective we should view the current circumstance.

To the average person these are just numbers with no reference until you look at them in some perspective.
We Centrists will sit back and watch the massacre.

It should be fun...just don't bite your tongue if you get disappointed.

BTW, is that all you got???

You can't cherry pick statistics to try and make your guy look better. What were interest rates when Reagan took over? What were they when Obama took over? How about the inflation rate? Reagan may not have had a war on two fronts to fight, but he was in the middle of a very costly Cold War.

At this point, it is WAY too early to try and compare Obama's "accomplishments" to the likes of an iconic president like Ronald Reagan. It's the equivalent of Dan Quayle comparing himself to John F. Kennedy. Maybe that will change, but right now, that's how far apart they are.

As for the birth certificate issue, it's not even worth bringing up any more. As someone said earlier in this thread, if it could have been proven that he was not born here, the Clintons certainly would have done so.

People who are wasting time worrying about this need to find more productive things to think about.

Well the cold war wasn't "costly" until Reagan started spending $1000 on toilet seats.

So interests rates were high and inflation was high...that's not good but industry was solvent. The brakes have been on interest rates for nearly all of Bush's administration and that didn't stop the recession so it's obvious that has minimal effect on unemployment and growth.

The overwhelming majority of accounts and common sense tell us this is worse than what Reagan inherited. I mean, is that really in dispute???
At this point, it is WAY too early to try and compare Obama's "accomplishments" to the likes of an iconic president like Ronald Reagan. It's the equivalent of Dan Quayle comparing himself to John F. Kennedy. Maybe that will change, but right now, that's how far apart they are.

I haven't compared them. I compared unemployment rates over similar times in their presidencies. It's worth comparing since they both inherited 2 of the worst economies in recent years.

I wonder how many muslim countries and muslim civilians O-daddy has to bomb before people realize that he's not a muslim? he's managed quite a few so far..

Maybe it takes invading a muslim country, destroying it's infrastructure and unleashing a civil war which leads to hundreds of thousands of civilian deaths in order to provide you're a real American, Christian president in today's America?
