It's also a logistics issue with the secret service. They're pretty much required to scout any area he visits, and putting agents on the ground to protect him walking around an unsecured open area in a foreign country like that wasn't going to happen in a couple days. Throw in Air Force 1 & transpo for the beast and you can't blame him for not going. Don't know the excuse for Holder not going though.

Then again, where were all the world leaders when the incidents in Canada and Australia occurred?

Could we be anymore arrogant right now? Only in the U.S is it headline news that we didn't have a high profile representative at the march. I'm not in France but I doubt they're losing much sleep over this as they have much bigger problems to deal with right now. So can we (U.S) all stop being such attention whores?

Thanks guys. Honestly, I have listened to talk radio today and the conspiracy theories were off the chain. I found myself yelling back at the radio in the car to people I usually agree with. Sometimes you got to go with the most reasonable explanation instead of making political hay. This is a non issue with me. Maybe it was a fuck up and maybe Kerry should have attended but this has been blown way out of proportion IMHO.

Burn some music cd's and listen to that on your commute instead of people setting their hair on fire on AM radio.

The problem is that he didn't go because he was busy or little notice, but because his agenda is not to get officially involved with anything which mentions Islam attached to violence. He is a moderate muslim and his main concern after the Paris attacks is to warn the world about islamophobia.

I think that gathering was very high-risk. One strategy used by terror groups as well as armed forces (especially in the times of drone strikes) is the "Double Tap". A first strikes shakes up the place, and when everyone comes running and/or trying to help, they wipe out the whole place. Imagine if that would have been tried.

Mind you, the main synagogue in Paris was closed on that sabbath for the first time since WW2.

If there was to be such an event, it just HAS to be better planned, and that takes at least a full week. And Obama, as the President of the USA is the ultimate target for any extremist of ther kind that did the Paris strikes.

He HAD to stay away.
