I'm just really curious to see how much a typical pornstar gets paid per scene usually. I figured the best place to ask would be with real pornstars.

so I'm talking typical G/B scene and solo work. I'm told that a list stars such as lexi belle, eva angelina run around 1500 for 6 hours of film work. But I'm curious to know just starting out how much a girl makes per scene.

It entirely depends on the company hiring the girl, and it can range just about anywhere from $100 to $2000+. Bigger companies can usually pay more, whereas lesser known will pay less.

Also consider that shooting for solo sites (such as mine), we don't usually, if at all, get paid for those scenes, and instead must rely on membership sales for payments. So in my case, I don't get paid at all unless someone signs up for my site or buys my videos on sites like Customs4U, ManyVids, Clips4Sale, etc.

The rates vary depending on the girl and what the scene calls for. The bottom range Harley stated is way high in today's market.

The standard price back when shooting porn was actually lucrative was much higher than it is these days. In 1998 and 1999 a new girl would get between $1000 and $2000 for her first scene on average depending if she's hot or not. Then once you've become a regular the straight bg rate was between 800 and 1000. Anal got you an extra 300 - 500. Then when the internet came along and everyone was making piles of money the rates went up. Some girls were getting a standard rate of $1500 - $2000 and more for anal, dp etc. An average girl would get $1000. gg scenes always get less so if your rate is $1000 for a bg scene then your gg rate would be 600 or 700. A bj video rate is usually 300 - 500 and those were usually added on to a regular scene at a discount...the girl is already there and so they say "hey, will you do a bj scene for an extra $300?"

Today girls are doing bg scenes for $500 anal for $800. The companies aren't making a lot of profit because of all the losers who refuse to pay for it yet are the first and loudest to bitch about quality on tube sites.

It's definitely not easy to make a lot of money in porn. Basically, the more you're willing to work and the less limits you have, the more you'll make. Most girls either quit when they realize it's not as easy as getting naked and being pretty, and the rest work lots of other side jobs for extra money, such as escorting.

The thing now is there are very few pornstars.... they are now girls who shoot porn part time and escort full time. I'd say 95% of porn girls escort. I'd really say 99% but I'd rather give some the benefit of the doubt. They shoot scenes so they can charge more for escorting. I know 3 girls who don't escort. All the rest do.

I'm with you, Harley. While I'm not remotely in the Porn business, be it as a performer or in the business side, I just can't see it being remotely anywhere near 95%, much less 99%. For sure it can't possibly be including the Adult Models, Solo Girls, Etc. However, IMO, even IF it was just the absolute Top Tier Porn Stars, I STILL don't see it being anywhere that many.

I seriously doubt it'd be possible to get 10 Porn Stars to come chime in and have 9 of them confirm that they indeed escort. Just imagine getting 100 Porn Stars to come chime in and have at least 95 of them say that they do escort. I just don't see it.

With big compagnies like Vivid, VCA, Hustler, Jules Jordan, Brazzers, ZTOD, Naughty America and Mofos some pornstars get correctly paid. Briana Banks, Nina Mercedez and Raylene were among the highest paid pornstars when working for Vivid in the early 2000's. It also depends of the number of scenes they make.

Part of the problem is that the companies are putting on too long of previews on promo sites. Really, the previews on the legitimate promo sites allow people to get their rocks off without having to pay to see the entire scenes. I know this has allowed me to go significantly longer without feeling the urge to purchase a subscription. They show the money shots and everything. The porn business model is really screwed up and it needs its own Steve Jobs to fix it. Veronica Vain is coming up with an idea to allow people to buy individual scenes for a lower price without having to shell out $30.00 for the entire website. This would be very good for people like me, who really only like to follow just a few pornstars. Also, find ways to allow people to join porn sites more discretely. Stop screwing people over buy committing them to another site in the fine print when they purchase your site. (you know the pre-checked boxes joining you to another site that you have no interest in, which you have to manually uncheck to not join.) There are money cards that are sold at Walmart and Dollar Tree that allow you to join porn sites without giving them your real information. People should be educated about this.

So get rid of the ridiculously long previews on the promo sites, allow people to buy individual scenes for a smaller fee, allow them to join more discretely, and find a way to get rid of the tube sites.
