This aint funny one bit.Sure we all are concerned about the fans though, who will go there to SA to see the cup.But lets hope everyone will be fine.

By the way SA have a good history of hosting wonderful events, the Rugby WC, The Cricket WC( I was there with the Barmy Army) and even the IPL which they hosted at a short notice to a brilliant effect.
They are a capable country and its important to wish them well rather than crack such juvenile jokes.

There's nothing juvenile about this: http://board.freeones.com/showpost.php?p=4537958&postcount=32 It's very serious. Serious as a heart attack.

Why bump it out of a four day lapse in posts to say close it? Are you plotting to go stab some players? Are you afraid we're getting too close to your master plan?

Satisfaction? I don't know what you're talking about. I posted real fotos for everyone to realize how bleek the situation is there. :dunno:

I think South Africa were great hosts and the World Cup was a huge success. :glugglug:

I didn't hear or read a single report of any deaths related to the world cup. Maybe BP should get the South Africans to build their oil rigs. ;)

Shame about the quality of the football. :crying: Brazil 2014 should see a return to real attacking football.

The tournament was well hosted by the South Africans and the atmosphere was great. Just because the crime in South Africa is the only thing the media concentrates on and over hypes doesn't mean that there isn't anything good there either. There are obviously still problems that eminated from apartheid which only ended 14 years ago, give it a few more years and I'm sure the country will become an even better place to live in or visit.

Now thats positive thinking!
Seriously, positive thinking is good.

But is it realistic?
I hope so.

But how would segregation in the past contribute to violence today?
Maybe one of the reasons for it to begin with was safety for the innocent folks.
I don't know, just thinking.

Maybe a few decades perhaps, a lot of the old guard need to die out (racists on both sides) and once everyone gets a decent education and equal job opportunities then crime should go down as more and more people get out of the ghettos and integrated into mainstream society. That's my hope anyway :glugglug:

That makes sense. :glugglug:

Ever been to America? Insitutionalized racism ended 40-50 years ago and racial violence in this country today is astounding. Apartheid? That was even worse than what happened in America. I don't see a lot on the horizon in SA, although I could be wrong.

^Living in Chicago, I wouldn't say racial violence is astounding, although racism itself is prevelant.
...What is astounding is "black-on-black" violence!

^Nah...show me the numbers if that's the case.
As long as you aren't wandering in the wrong neighborhoods, where you can be hit with a stray bullet, you're relatively safe.
It's all about gang violence.

^I'm not disputing that blacks committing crimes against whites (interracial crime) is not prevelant in America, which is the point of the links provided. I'm just disputing that these crimes are crimes of racism (hate crime), which is much more prevelant in South Africa, considering its recent history.

I don't really know what it takes to prove "hate." It seems whenever it is W/B that many cases it is "hate" and when it is B/W it's not "hate." Some of the links did somewhat get into that. This one in particular: http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=59129

SA is a different situation altogether though. So in the best interest of not driving this thread in some direction not intended, I'll leave this post marked as rhetorical.

^OK. Good article...thx.

Touchy subject this is.
In the news today, thanks to Jesse Jackson, Lebron and his "slave master." But I digress... ;)

Insitutionalized racism did not end 40-50 years. I'm 100% sure of that. :2 cents:
If you have "any" credible evidence to back your claim will you please post it? :wave2:

Incompetent corrupt black government...........check.
Incompetent corrupt mostly black police force..........check.

All is well in SA.

I think you will find corruption and incompetence in any government and police force around the world not just in "black" countries. :2 cents:

Nobody in their right mind would dispute the fact that South Africa has a whole lot of serious problems. Putting aside any issues you may have about this country for a second if you can, don't you two (Bloodshot Scott & Trident1) agree South Africa hosted a successful World Cup with no reported football related murders? If not, why? :dunno:
