How do you drive?

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
Of course I know how to drive, to any smart asses on the board. My question is how do you drive? Or rather what is your driving style? i.e. speed freak, like grandma on sunday morning, "defensive", "agressive", or just plain "offensive"? You get the idea.
I myself drive like an asshole. You know the guy you honk at and get a :thefinger out the window! That's me :) Nice to meet ya now FUCK OFF! Seriously I don't give a damn who I piss off in traffice, sooner or later I'm sure it'll catch up to me. Hell I'm 27 and have at least 14 speeding tickets in those 11 years, actually 9 years since I haven't gotten one in almost 2 now! Yeah for me! :nanner:
Anyway enough from me, what's your driving style? Sorry can't think of a better way to say it.

Like an asshole. I won't let people merge into the left lane especially after they saw the sign "right lane ends". I then procede to wave and smile at them. I drive a little aggresive too.I picked up 3 speeding tickets in n 8 month. Lost the lisence for 2 years. Last (4th) speeding ticket I recieved was Valentines day of 04. I can't stand slow drivers and people who won't effectively use the shoulder when turning left.

when I ask the bus driver i will let you guys know, until then i dont have a clue! LOL

The way I drive depends on if someone else is with me in the car, and the way I'm feeling at the time. Usually it's a mix between defensive and offensive driving. If someone is with me in the car I tend to forget where I'm going alot and then do stupid things to get in the correct lane. For some reason cell phones don't affect my driving much; it's just people in the car with me.

I always drive the speed limit unless it's impossible, and I always drive at least the speed limit also because people that drive even a mile or two an hour slower cause more accidents than everybody thinks. I drive defensively and always assume that the other person is going to make a mistake no matter how good I drive. I pay attention to the road more than almost anybody. Whenever I get a new car I always make sure I can adjust everything on the dash and work all the controls without looking at them. That way I never take my eyes off the road. I try to think 5 steps ahead and predict what others might do before they do them on the road, and I always try to give myself a margin of safety whenever possible. I also obey all traffic laws, not only because they might keep my safe but the cops around here won’t catch any of the drug dealers, won’t come to your house for half an hour if somebody is trying to kill you, but are right there if you go over the speed limit. I guess I try to drive perfectly. My view has always been even if you have the skills of a professional driver on the racetrack there still isn't any reason to push it on the open road, there is more than just your life at stake.

i used to drive like a maniac, totally offensive. my passengers would be frightened. i still speed a bit, but i stop at all lights and signs now use my signals and for the most part obey all the rules of the road.
i no longer go into oncoming traffic to pass people. the last time i did that was 2 years ago. nowadays i drive as not to get a ticket, it's too expensive. is it really worth a hundred dollars just to get to that red light 1 minute faster?
as a driver i honk, yell and give people the finger, but only when they really deserve it. i don't freak out anymore and have found that getting places is a hell of a lot less stressfull.
when driving cross country, i speed. not in construction zones as they monitor it whether or not there are workers present and not for at least 30 miles before or after the border of each state i pass through. otherwise it's at least 90 for me, usually 100.
for the most part i think i'm pretty reserved on the road. i drive for a living so i better damn drive well.

It depends on the day, if I have any passengers and the car.

Usually, though, I drive typically Italian - go with the flow and keep things moving and never ever ever panic like Germans do! :D

Horn = brakes

Just the other day, I was coming up to a light that went red just before I got through it, I kept going, thought "man, that was a bit close".....

....and looked in my rearview mirror and saw 6 cars come through right behind me.

The difference is, is that, imo, Italian drivers all expect that behavior - both those running and those that are stopped. Most of us like to keep things flexible.

A long time ago, when I used to own my 'cuda or the Challenger, I was "unbeatable" on the road. There have been many a times when I've toyed with cops before breaking away and literally "racing into the sunset" with near absolute impunity.

Ofcourse, these days I drive cars which have more safety ratings than horsepower! I drive cautiously. I rarely (if ever) take risks. I am "a prudent" driver.

And I don't mind it one bit at all. :)

Ofcourse, the one time I'm somewhat (somewhat doesn't mean completely!) less prudent is when I take Long Tom (my Harley) out for a sprint ;)

knows petras secret: she farted.
i play chess when i drive. playing everyones actions to every possibility ahead of time. very careful, but a bit fast.

Vauxhall astra diesel probably the most boring car ever made:( ...how i long to have my VW Golf GTi back:bowdown:

I drive in a way that I can get to wherever I am going in as short a time without crashing. On certain roads I go above the speed limit on certain roads I adhere to the limit. Also varies depending on road conditions.

I was driving today in a country north of mine. (Today of all days this happens.)

It's a country where people are VERY literal about things in general and rules in particular. I'd say that they are obsessed with rules and laws. So, I'm in a city driving 40-45kph and am coming up on a crosswalk. I've got p l e n t y of room before this 50-ish guy is near my lane to cross, so I keep going.

This m-fucker, decides to jog-run to "prove a point" and yells something in, well, a gutteral ugly language, and swings his paper grocery bag out into my lane to swipe my car. Now, he does this by leaning way way out like a runner at the finish line of a race.

I truly, truly do not understand the intentions of this mentality and dare I even say people. So obsessed with "being right" and have such a bizzare faith in their draconian rules, that he practically jumps in front of my ride to prove something!
