a recent thread got me thinking. Does your job give you time off for federal holidays?

My last job gave me off for Federal holidays, but I didn't get paid for them.

Curio ^ Was it a Muni, County, or private enterprise position ?

Employers "should" post all of their policies in some form of a pre employment packet, that way the employee isn't surprised when a holiday comes up, only to find out that they have to work. :(

If the employer doesn't lay down the guidelines up front, they're either subcontractors re-subcontracting, flakes . . . etc.
Just the same, it's up to the individual employee to find these things out.
Ask me how I know this :o . . .on second thought :nono:

what the fuck you lookin at?
only the big ones. Christmas, thanksgiving and new years. We're open on easter cause the fucks who own the company or fuckin jews. Seriously...they really are jews.

I once worked a job where they gave you nothing off. If you were scheduled to work you worked that day no matter where if fell on the calendar. I got paid like crap too.

At my last job, we got paid time and a half AND holiday pay for 4th of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, I know.

Not a cent for Easter.

I don't remember about Thanksgiving.

We also were closed on Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Easter.

It was a county position, but technically it was a temp position even though I was there over a year. Because it was a temp position is why I didn't get paid for holidays.
