I think there are two main reasons or groups that are attracted to shemales:
1: The bi-curious, who want to feel another cock but want the illusion to do it with a girl, and shemales look more like girls than like guys (body proportions, hair and stuff).
2: The really hardcore anal fans (that's what I once read), who don't want vaginal sex at all, but only anal, but not with a man. With a tranny, there is no other possibility (let's leave out oral and all the other non-penetrative sex).
That's my opinion to that.
I think most members here aren't gay (there's just too much straight content), but bi-curious or just so horny (and open minded!) that they are willing to try anything.
