It's not even close. Homer at least used to be likeable and funny in the first 8-9 years of The Simpsons. Family Guy has always been shit.

I remember doing a google image search years back and typing in The Simpsons and being introduced to Simpsons porn. It's just not right. Stuff that I could have gone without seeing.

Neither, Same format. Dumb dad, keep in check mom, dumb son, smart daughter and a baby.

Simpson is all the personality and Homer is modeled after Matt Groening dad. Good show but stopped watching it after season 10 or 11 prime time. All time fav episode is the Bond spoof with Scorpio as Homer owns the Broncos at the end. As Marge said "what is wrong with owning the Broncos?" And Homer says "Honey you don't understand football".

Broncos won it the next year beating the Falcons.

American Dad is the best one to watch in the modern. The Ricky Spanish episode is a must see. On Netflix.

I grew up watching The Simpsons so Homer gets my vote. Although I prefer Brian & Stewie in Family Guy to Peter.

He's fucking Lois...and lets face it, shes pretty much a nasty whore, when it comes to sex.

Peter has his moments and they are often, but Homer is an institution. When it comes to a fight, Homer has survived so much more than Peter that I simply can't see Peter dishing out anything Homer hasn't seen before or could survive. And let's face it, someone will open a beer sometime during the fight and that will end the fight.
