Home color printer worth it??

I am debating getting a color (Canon) photo printer for home. I shoot megs of stuff for myself, but normally I outsource for my digital prints.

Is a photo printer "worth it" for home use? The printers are fairly inexpensive at ±300€, but i know ink and paper adds up. I am thinking about having it to print A4 brochures (less than 5 at a time), pix from the web in small (3x5) format.... and certainly a few porn/model pix from the web... OR am I better off sending the small jpegs from the net to a print back by mail sevice, like I do now for c.€0.30 print..For my own 6-10meg shots, I think I'll stick with service bureaus...

ya... im buying new ink cartrages monthly it seems and yes they do add up... i have had to stop printing off so many pictures... i would reccommend it if you really like photography and can afford 100 dollars in paper and ink monthly

I'd say so. Seems to me it would make for a greater benefit to you then outsourcing. It would free up more of your time as well.
