HJsplit help please

Just got HJsplit and im trying to join 2 parts of a movie file. If read how to use it but its just not working. Its just basically copying the 001 file and not combinied it with 002 even though they are both in the same folder.

The files are .zip. I thought i would need to unzip before doing this but when i right click there is no unzip option.

Help please!

If the files are zipped, you need to unzip them first, which means you need to have a zip program to do this. So if you don't have the unzip option when you right click or if you double click on the zip file and a zip program doesn't open, it means you don't have a zip program installed.

When you finally get the files unzipped, and you have hjsplit installed, then you can just double click on the filename.001 file and hjsplit will join the files. Or you can browse to the directory the where files are and place the filename.001 file in the text box and the program will combine them. You can also supply the program with a filename and destination path for the joined file. If you do not have all the files for the split file, hjsplit will not combine them.

Winrar decompresses rar files. You need winzip, which decompresses zip files.

Ok i downloaded it but when i try opening the file it says "filename" is not a valid win32 application.

Any suggestions?

You can try using WinAce it does Rars and Zips!

Oh i just noticed, in the filename it says .zip but under details it says its a 001 file.

Which is it?

Then you just need too rename the file. Change the extension to .001, and then use hjsplit.

You should try a freeware program called 7-ZIP. It will unzip everything including rar files. After decoding your files, then you can join them with HJsplit. It works like a charm.
