Hitler gets pwned

The news article I read yesterday stated that Germany is starting to ease up on such things, but things like the Swatstika are still banned. And anyway I dont see why they shouldn't put a waxwork of him in the museum it is history and old Adolf is a part of history, like it or not.

That`s correct. In Germany,Austria and Israel (of course) Swastikas are only allowed in "serious" historical films/documentations e.g. "Saving Private Ryan","Schindler`s List","Stauffenberg" or the historical "Wochenschau" whereas games like "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" or "UberSoldier" must be revised by the developers for the german market (you see a blank space,a simple cross or something else).A few weeks ago i read that Lithuania also bans Swastikas and the soviet-russian Hammer and Sickle symbol, they suffered badly from both countries during WWII and after.
A ban of t-shirts showing a crossed-through swastika was cancelled by the highest court.

Hitler is and will always be part of the german AND global history and therefore it is unintelligible for me NOT to show him in such an interesting place as Madame Tussaud`s Cabinet - even in Germany.

Protesting is one thing destroying other peoples display is another. It's like flag burning you want to burn a flag fine but you can't burn someones else's.
From what I read they went out of their way not to let people use it in a way that would be inapproriate to most people. In the story they refer to the movie "downfall" which I have seen with english sub titles and found to be a very good accurate historical piece as somehow inapproriate to some.As some have said this man (Hitler) is history and very significant part of history at that and needs to be remembered. And not just dismissed as a lone nut who caused the 2nd world war solely.A whole country followed his lead and to paint him as just some aboration or something other than human, who obviously was very sick and demented in his views but also was found by many to be quite attractive is to miss the lessons we need to learn from the whole nazi experience.IMO that lesson is that even a country as culturally developed as germany was capable of henious acts under certain circumstances and that showed that any country/people under some circumstances were capable of such things and still are today.Forget that and we will see it repeated most likely.I am all for requiring that any display of this era be approriate and not glorify what is the worst example of inhumanity in history IMO.But it was humans that did that and we should not forget that because humans are still capable of such.:2 cents:

Somebody took the time to build that, its not going to bother Hitler (he's dead) but all the work that person had to do to make thats is just ruined. What was the guy thinking its not even a smart form of protest.

Oh hell no you didn't just say that shit!! fuck that nobodies stupid!! these evil fucks we speak of they are already remembered in history by way of text books; in news papers; in documentries; and their are pictures of them in those item's to remember the sick fucks for who they were.. unfortunately its history and it will never be forgotten.. they don't deserve fuckin statue's or portraits of them made by some fanatic or somebody who idolized; was sympathetic; worshipped; or believed in their cause..

if people are destroying statue's of these evil fucks who were so evil it just goes to show that evil fucks that killed like saddam; hitler; osama bin laden; stalin; and every other mad dictator that killed thousands; even millions of people to achieve their twisted goals.. people don't wanna see that respect; admiration; or even the acknowledgment being given to such a piece of shit; fuck that.. no evil tyrant like that should be glorified; by being immortalized by the likes of a statue...

you wanna stare at a piece of shit like that or see what the fuck looked like or you respect them for some reason go rent the fuckin documentry; go read the fuckin history books.. look them up online... but those scum fuckers get no respect and shouldn't have anything to glorify them!!! somebody taking the time to build some kind of art work like that?? thats so fuckin stupid!!! :dunno:

Wow, you are obviously blinded by pure hatred and have lost all rational critical thinking in the process.

How would you react to a statue of Stalin? Do you know how many Christians and other religious people were prosecuted around World War II by the communists? Does the word "gulag" ring a bell?

How would you react to a statue of Caeser? How would you react to a statue of Caligula? Or of ancient Pharaohs?

Because all three of those people did way worse things, and killed way more innocent people, than Hitler did. Why do you hate Hitler more than them? Because he's more recent? Because you were taught in school to hate Hitler exclusively? It's bullshit. Do you even know the things that went on in ancient times? Do you know how many Christians were killed just for being Christian in ancient Rome? Accounts say that, at one point, the forest around Rome was cleared as far as one could see, THAT'S how much lumber they needed to be able to crucify all the Christians. Why don't you care about that, why don't you go rip the head off some ancient Caeser statues or the statues of other Agustus in museums?

Because you weren't taught to hate Caeser. You only know what you were taught in school and in society.

Talk about reading a history book.

He also built volkswagon one of the best car makes out there

Yes, he himself invented the Volkswagen Beetle, creating a car that would be sold for very cheap so that all Germans (even the poor ones, since Germany was in economic depression) could own a car.

His scientists also invented jet aircraft, the submachine gun, and computers (IBM was a Nazi company).

Because radio waves were so easily intercepted, his scientists discovered the ability to use light to carry a sound signal -- now refined, we know this technology as "fiber optics".

A Nazi scientist was told to invent a drink that would make soldiers happier and give them more energy. He created Fanta.

I'm not joking, lol, all of this was invented under Hitler. Look it up.

And sorry for double-post, I couldn't figure out how to edit.

Your preferred historians apparently are David Irving and Ernst Zuendel...

:ban:

Why do you say that, because I don't go batshit at the first mention of Hitler's name and consider him the most evil person to ever exist?

Your preferred historian must be Elie Weisel. I'm only stating facts, I'm the one arguing neutrally here; just because I don't make a 300-word post full of cursing and run-on sentences talking about how much I hate Hitler, then you compare me to Ernst Zuendel? Please, this is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. You don't even attempt to refute what I say, just criticize me and make assumptions about me and my beliefs.

Why should I take the time to dissect the ludicrous bullshit you spouted out?

Just one example where you have your facts wrong (I can't be bothered to spend anymore time on you):

- Volkswagen (Kraft durch Freude-Automobile) was a giant scam to delve into the German public's pockets. The money people had payed in advance to purchase a VW beetle went directly into weapons production.

Not many Germans received the car they had payed for. And if they did, there probably wasn't any gas to fill it up with, since petrol was too important for the war machinery to waste it on civilians.

... regardless of that minor detail, the industrial genocide of the Jews, Poles and others is in its technocratic (hence: cynical) perfection SINGULAR in human history.

You can continue with your relativistic nonsense. But not with my participartion. :crash:

Wow, and? Poles, jews, "others," who cares where they were from? There's nothing "singular" about it; I think I was right to assume Elie Weisel is your inspiration, as you seem to very much favour his vocabulary. Fact is, in times before Hitler, the jews had been massacred in exponentially higher numbers than in World War II. Hitler used gas chambers, Caeser used a pit of lions. Hitler used a gun, Caeser used crucifixion. Do I even have to bring up the name of Caligula?

Secondly, people do realize that Adolf Hitler himself never killed a single jew, right? He just wrote about it. So what exactly is it demonstrating by tearing off the head of a plastic figure of Adolf Hitler?

Okay, I see your point about VW, you're probably correct (I don't know). I simply stated the theory behind the VW's production, and the fact remains that it was still invented by Hitler himself.

See this is what we call civilized, diplomatic discussion. Just because it's about Adolf Hitler doesn't mean everyone has to bust an internut.

The entire point of what I'm saying is that this kind of hatred directed toward Adolf Hitler, and SOLELY Adolf Hitler, to the point that we can not even have his very image displayed in a museum, is irrational. I never claimed that Hitler didn't deserve our hatred, but the hatred some people suggest towards him and all of Third-Reich Germany is more intense than the hatred most of those very people ever held towards the jews in the first place! We're quick to point out that Hitler demonized the jews, and say we must never forget, yet then 10 seconds later the very same people are demonizing Hitler and the Germans in the exact same way.

Hate Hitler, hate what the Nationalsozialist Party of Germany did in his name, but acting like this idiot did proves nothing but our foolishness and animalism when we should be critical, civil and diplomatic instead

Without getting in the middle of this lol I would like to add that while the VW was something Hitler had a hand in pushing as a concept it was really Ferdinand Porsche who was the designer.

Yes,and don`t forget your Saturn V rocket which was developed by ex-Nazi Wernherr von Braun - the former constructor of the german V1 and V2 rockets which bombed england.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V-2_rocket

Results of the uncountable inhuman and barbaric medical experiments in the concentration camps (e.g. temperature and pressure chambers) where used by the allied after WWII to develop better protection suits for their pilots...

Nearly everything which was encountered/tested/developed/build by germans between 1933 and 1945 had only one reason:war.

Absolutely the germans were way ahead in rockets ,jets etc.Von Braun is the man who took America to the moon. And while the V-1 was a terrifying and effective weapon it was rather a simple design which Von Braun I don't think was that involved in, but the V-2 was his baby and was a quantum leap in technology. And much of the American and Russian jets of of the post war were based on german designs. But it was not only the germans who made breakthroughs during the war,it is said that without WW2 and the manhattan project we would have not split the atom for another 100 years.Mankind always seems to do some of its best work while trying to destroy each other .

OMG U R SUCH A NAZI U MUST WERSHIP ERNST ZUENDEL!!!!!!!1

Yeah things that we use every day were invented back then by the very people we hate!

And I'm pretty certain Adolf Hitler himself drew the plan for the original Beetle. I have somewhere a hi-resolution scan of his hand-drawn design, but I know that he had someone comissioned to actually design a working schematic (since he obviously had little experience in automotives himself). That was probably this Porsche fellow.

Yeah I heard that in the news today...

what a clown! He thought hes cool or what? Maybe nobody told him that it wasnt the real Hitler?! Fu**** idiot!
Its just a wax figure dammit!

Why not? Its history! It doesnt mean that they "love" or worship Hitler!

A wax statue is nothing, except a symbol. Removing it, to me, is akin to removing his "work" from history books.

If people want to forget, say hello to the new boss - the same as the old boss...

Secondly, people do realize that Adolf Hitler himself never killed a single jew, right? He just wrote about it.

Ahhh, man. That was a real knee slapper. I love absurdly literalistic humor :)

Then again, I suppose it's possible you were being serious....

That would be very disturbing.

I think you forgot a little incident called World War II. Hitler is directly to blame for this war and 72 million people died as a result. The most deaths by far in history.

and sure Caligula was a bastard, but there aren't people alive today that watched their friends and family members be murdered under his command. That sort of puts it in a different perspective for people.
