Hillary: To Be or Not to Be "Clinton"

LOL

Wow! People come up with some crazy political studies!!! It's interesting, though! lol

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/04/27/rodham.poll/index.html

Excerpt:
"Including Hillary Clinton's maiden name increased her approval rating among Republicans polled to 23 percent. "Hillary Clinton" had a 16 percent approval rating among people who identified themselves as Republican.

Among people who said they were independent, "Hillary Rodham Clinton" was favored by 48 percent, compared with 42 percent for "Hillary Clinton."

The name seemed to matter little to Democrats; the inclusion of "Rodham" inspired only a 1 percent decrease in her approval rating, from 77 to 76 percent.

But below the Mason-Dixon Line, "Hillary Clinton" got a favorable rating from 52 percent of all respondents, compared with 45 percent for "Hillary Rodham Clinton."

In the rest of the country, the opposite was true: 43 percent of all people polled gave "Hillary Clinton" a positive rating and 53 percent rated "Hillary Rodham Clinton" positively."

Hillary '08! :nanner:

When you add in the margin for error with the fact that they weren't using that great of a sample size, the findings are not that shocking. It doesn't take that many people to swing the difference to make it seem like they like the other name better.

God, Please, I Beg You, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would love to know the numbers if the name Hilary Rodham was used. Drop the "Clinton", and I'm sure the numbers decrease.

Goes to show, some people are desperate to get Clinton back in the Oval Office. Let me assure you folks, this is not the right way of doing that. This person can't run her own home, and yet you want her to run the most powerful country in the World. Give your head a shake.

I don't think I can handle; Bush - Clinton - Bush - Clinton. Nuts to these rich family's, let someone else in.

EXACTLY... I agree 100%. It's like having two warring dynasties, which certainly doesn't make me feel like I live in a country of the people.

By the time Bush leaves office, we'll have already had 20 years of Bushes and Clintons. With Hillary, that'll jump up to 24 or 28 years. That's insane. Then what's next? Jeb in '16? God help us.

Now I'm liberal on most issues, so I'll still take Hillary over the current brand of Republicanism the Bush administration uses. Still, I'd really like to see some fresh blood in the White House.

I really hope Hillary wins the DemocRat primary. I think she provides the best shot for the Republicans to retain the Whitehouse.

Is that DemocRat [Emphasis mine]intentional? :1orglaugh

There is nothing wrong if it's Hillary. Atleast USA will look at the world with a basically different view, if she occupies White House. IMO.

Ah! What the ex-pres will be called? First Lad? :D

Maybe Chelsea Clinton will someday run against one of the Bushes thus causing another Bush/Clinton runoff that makes the country loose all hope (even more than we already have) and start immigrating to Mexico.

forget the war on terror, we need to take out the real threat: the war on video games. that's what we can be expecting if we put in hillary "my husband won't have sex with me, so i'm going to take it out on everyone else having fun" clinton. I would like to see a female president, but not one that sucks, or doesn't suck, rather.

for that glk, I am going to vote for hillary, just so YOUR vote doesn't count.;)

imo hilary is a waisted vote hopfully she doesnt run and take away votes from republican party.

Republicans believe in big business and will continue pumping money into the Corporations through various government contracts, slowly selling us down the river. Democrats believe that the government should provide for it's people by giving back directly. I for one believe the democrats have the true spirit of the United States, but both party's are corrupt and Clinton will be no lesser an evil than Bush, just different. We need new candidates, and a reform of our governmental operations, not relatives of other evil/stupid people, making the same mistakes.

The problem with that, for me, is that the Republicans let you keep your guns to shut you up. They don't care about your rights, they take away free speech but keep guns because they know your gun will keep you happy, and quiet your voice. But your right freedom does include right to bear arms, we've argued before on gun control and you know I wouldn't want to take your gun away, just be safe with it and don't push ownership on me. Both sides want to take away freedoms, I'd just rather give up guns than free speech.

But above all, I don't want another Clinton in office.
