Tough call. It's either basil or cilantro.

I'm nutz for basil. Garlic is a winner and those big tubs of "Italian Seasoning" have an ever-growing number of uses.

Off Topic: I'll be your bitch for a bottle of Sesame Oil. Gawd I love that stuff.

I seem to be the only carbon based life form that doesn't like cilantro.

squallumz

knows petras secret: she farted.
C'mon squally, I thought you were a foodie !?!

Let's hear it!

you mean be serious?

ohhhh... alright.

i dunno.. i kinda like fennel seed i guess. basil is good too. chives are yummy.

saffron is way overrated.

bay laurel leaf is good in adobo. and cilantro used in chinese food is also very good. used to hate the stuff.

tarragon is an overlooked herb. great with salmon. move over, dill.

Herb: The one that was with Peaches.

Spice: Ginger (the only one named for a spice)

Not so, I'm afraid. There's actually a significant part of the population (I can't remember the exact number, but 8-10% sounds familiar) that is genetically programmed to hate cilantro. Those people have a gene that tells their brain to interpret the taste of cilantro as bitter, or some other less-than-desirable flavor.

Really? I mean, I was joking of course, but I'd like to learn more about the genetically programmed thing. Got any easy to understand links?
