You got it Bob! Have your peeps to call my peeps.
you can crack wise at me all want, but do you have any idea what they would eat at those places otherwise? Food that comes in 5 gallon buckets. condiments that say Mustard on the label and nothing else. soup that is leftovers from the week. bread that is stale and bleached flour. At least what I made was from scratch and with so many people my food was usually just divided up so they all got a few bites each.
if I want your opinions Ill rear end the car in front of me at the next traffic light.

You know, everyone keeps talking about raising the minimum wage. Fantastic, lets do it because Wally world and McD's can afford it!! They bring in billions a year!
What about that mom and pop owned taco joint that could afford to pay 6-10 employees that makes just enough profit every year to justify staying open? The corner store that could afford 2-3 employees without going under. The car wash that could afford 3-4 teenagers at the current minimum wage. Or how about all the businesses that can afford to pay minimum wage ENTRY LEVEL positions where their employees can build their skills and climb the ladder to different, better paying positions.
Yup, that federal minimum wage hike applies to them too. And, where do you really think they're going to cut costs? Yea, I think some will at first try to find cheaper ingredients. Some owners will try cutting hours and do more themselves. In the end though, how many of their employees will it be? 1, 2, 3, or more??
I saw a estimate that McDonald's employees about 700k people in the US alone. I also saw a 2010 estimate that there's around 28 million small businesses. If each small business has at least 10 employees, that's 280 million people that are employed. How many of those are going to no longer be employed if their employer is forced to go up $7 more (assuming that all 280 million are at $8/hr).
But that's OK. McDonald's, Walmart, and a few other billion dollar businesses that offer minimum wage can afford it even though they don't employ as many as the small businesses do nation wide.

it's very simple oh dimpled one. They raise their prices. 50 cents per taco or $1 more per car to be washed won't drive people away. it's been proven in California where restaurants are required to pay waiters minimum wage. they all raised prices and it didnt touch their profits or their business.
