Here we go again

Once again I'm probably going to have to start looking for another job. The fning company that I've only been at for 4 months got bought by someone else, which means I'll probably have to start looking for another job in about a year. For the 7th time in 4 years....what a joy..

what the fuck you lookin at?
This shit is getting out of hand. I'm getting sick of hearing about this company closes its doors that company got bought out. This company is sending all work overseas. All of this surely will help our economy to go down the fuckin toilet! We're in a recession, I don't give a fuck what anyone tells you and we're headed for a depression quickly! Only unlike the one in the 20's there will be no escape.

"Here I go again on my own, going down the only road I've ever known!"

I love that song, and the economy really pisses me off right now too. Keep jobs in America buttholes!

It could even be worse. I wish I would have even been able to find 7 places that would actually hire me in the last four years. :(

I feel your pain, brother. In my industry it's hitting us really hard. I've only worked about 25 hours since mid-June. Hang in there, I'm sure things will work out for you.

I am in America, not of it.
A country that lets all of it's good careers go overseas is in for a world of hurt. Eventually even the Polititions will feel it and then look out.

It used to be that the primary interest of business was to create a superior product.
Today, since all of the formerly competing companies are literally one (or two), they spend time counting beans in the board room, seeking out ways in which to make cheaper products, both literally and $$$ figuratively, so to speak. This is where your (our) benefits cease, as does your past due salary increase . . . we then become expendable via the insourcing of individuals (many illegally residing here) who will work cheaper.
If not that, they'll just pick up and move the whole damn enchilada to PRC, Mex., Bangladesh . . .India etc. ad nauseam.

The "free trade scheme" could spell the end of a nation. :thefinger

Not a "country" . . A corporate hierarchy in kahoots with an ambitious government. What percentage of the population does this account for ?

Miniscule ! So there !

Just imagine how much promise that these corporations would, once again, offer it's over taxed residents, if only -______________________________________________________________________________________

I bet half of you complaining are driving Japanese cars.

I don't own a car so :thefinger

Regardless its impossible to buy anything made in america anymore. You look at litterally everything you already own and some where on it it says "Made in China" or some other such asian country.

Well, good luck with all your upcoming interviews and so.
Sometimes, life is a bitch!
Stay positive, think positive and you should be allright.

Being unemployed sucks, but it ain't the end of the world.

If you're aking me (and I suppose by starting this thread, you're asking everyone)... learn a trade. Make yourself indespensible, and highly employable but learning something that everyone seems to be forgetting that America/Canada was built on. Hard work. My brother-in-law is a total fuck-hole, but he learned how to drywall, and he's pulling in over $100K/yr.

I also have another idiot friend who owns his own lawn-cutting business...

Doors are open, my friend.

Unfortunately, that doesn't always help. I'm a union stagehand, and I haven't had any real work in over 6 weeks. Stagehands have to be skilled in many aspects, not just in moving band gear. Unfortunately, the way the economy is right now, companies aren't putting on as many shows, bands aren't going on tours, conventions are being slashed, and, overall, the whole industry is cutting costs. In previous years the company Oracle has held their Open World convention and singlehandedly paid for many a stagehand's mortgage for at least a few months. This year they're downsizing and there's not going to be as much work that month.

Even if you know a trade that's not necessarily the answer to your problems.

Perhaps you could aspre to something else? Are you just going to sit around and wait for the economy to get better, or change yourself. The economy is a moving target.

That really sucks. I know lots of people out of work right now. More being let go every day. Scary times. That's why I am in favor of serious change in this nation. Good luck to you in finding a new job if that's what ends up happening. Hope it doesn't.
