I'd say go PS3 with Madden it may be slightly more expensive but you'll dodge the monthly costs for internet access and online gaming has become a huge part of the gaming industry these days, you also won't have to buy an extra adaptor for the ps3 that the xbox needs to go online. Playstation generally have a long life before making a new console so the investment is well worth it, and it's a cheap blu-ray player as well.
