It'd still hurt like hell, but he launched up into the center of the blade, not the edge.
Remember simple physics. The edges move faster.. with more force than the center of the rotor. He's lucky he didnt get his head cracked wide, and lucky the blades slowed down enough to allow such a thing. Oy, he's lucky no matter how ya look at it.
