Well to the shows i have recently been to, the mosh pit and the headbanging was there and better than ever.
The mainstream scene is in a bad shape nowadays and most of the recent bands are not worth the glory that was once Metal. But if you look underground you will find some good stuff. All that core scene is a disgrace but it will fade just like nu-metal did.

I hate this whole "old school" mentality in music. You're living in the past if you actually believe there is no good music nowadays.

"Old school" is a preference not a mentality, I love all music, but "old school" metal is my favorite.

I love metal. Don't really care if its old school or nu. Whatever. If it sounds good to me then I like it! so long as its not pop, r&b, rap, hip-hop, country, alternative, or some fuckin boy band, then its all good!

At the end of the day, regardless of your preference of sub genre of metal, i.e. trash metal, heavy metal, speed metal, nu-metal, etc...its still metal! Listen, appreciate it for what it is, and realize that particular style of metal that you don't like is LOVED by someone else for the same reasons that you love your style.

I was being specific to the many different types of metal. Some even blur the lines between the different genres within metal itself. Those things I listed aren't even music IMHO. Now classical and jazz are music as they take insane skill to master those arts as well. Not my favorites by any means but I can tolerate those types of music. And at least appreciate it for what it is.

I would LOVE to get a Porsche and cruse the autobahn. My music of choice for that would be Beethoven's 5th. I can imagine that being terribly relaxing! Not my favorite car or favorite music but in that setting would be pure gold!
