Hawaii

Hi poeple, I think it's my first post, but usually I am a "silent reader" of the forum. The thing is that I'm going to Hawaii on April. Do you know something hot to do there. I mean, not just seeing Pearl Harbour. Thank you!

You have to be more specific on what you want to do and what island. If you are just coming out to party and have a good time, then Oahu is the place. If you are coming out to relax and truly see Hawaii then you want the big island or maui.

I don't always remember to check threads so PM me if you have any specific questions.

Well I'm going to see the last U2 concert of the Vertigo 2006 tour, so I'm staying 4 days at Oahu, and then another4 or 5 days at Maui, I want to make pictures of landscapes and also nature, for I'm studying a little bit of photography... What about sex culture there, anyway??? lol

If you really want a well educated and fairly thorough tour of the island I would suggest http://www.robertshawaii.com/. If you are just going to sight see on your own then I would suggest to make sure you visit Diamond's Head, Kaneohe, and The Dole Plantation in Helemano. If you are venturing on your own, be careful the locals aren't always the friendliest. North Shore should be calmer by then, the waves in the winter are dangerous, but the current is still strong so for beaches I would suggest staying around Waikiki. And if you rent a car and decide to sight see, I strongly strongly advise you stay out of Wainae, definitely at night. Doubt you are military, but if you are, visit Schofield Barracks and head up Kolekole mountain, beautiful place and you can see the entire valley that the Japanese snuck through on their attack on Pearl Harbor.

As for sex culture, I'm guessing you mean the girls. School will still be in for UH and Chaminade so plenty of college girls, if you're down on your luck and gotta have some, Waikiki is hooker heaven, they are easy to spot because they are pretty much the only ones wearing 6 inch clear heel shoes. Watch out for the Mahoo(sp?)/Trannie's because there are a lot of them. Some of the nice clubs in Waikiki are Zanzabar's, Pipeline, and The Wave, but that is just 3 of the dozen's.

I would tell you about Maui but my knowledge is limited other than Jaws the popular surfing spot.

Agreed.
If you want to party, Oahu is the place.
Don't bother getting a car.

If you want to take some tours, get off Oahu and hit Maui or the Big Island.

If you're looking for a waterfall to fuck your lover, then find out where the tours don't go and find your own way.

I'd definitely visit the north shore of O'ahu. Banzai pipeline....incredible surf. Also, if you get a chance, go to Kauai....it is breathtaking and still very undeveloped compared to O'ahu and Maui. Waimea Canyon is spectacular. The Big Island disappointed me so unless you are into volcanoes and dried up lava beds I would skip it.

Oh, and definitely go to Pearl Harbor. As an American, it will put the hook right through you as you gaze down at the Arizona and remember what happened that day.

Have a good time!

Actually, northern Maui can get some excellent surf too and it's less crowded.

Yeah, I've heard that.
I've only been out there once so I haven't had the chance.

There's more to it than just that when I went, but that's clearly it's biggest attraction.

I guess if you just have a week and stay on 1 island, just go to Ohau and enjoy the beach, the north shore and Pearl Harbor.
But if you are staying longer -- like 2+ weeks -- get out to Maui and the Big Island for a few days each.
Roundtrip from Ohau to the other islands are typically $200-300/person.

I'm not american but spaniard, but anyway I love War History and more if it is about WW2, so without a doubt I will go to see Pearl Harbour.
Thanks to everyone for giving me advice, it is very good information!!
Thanks again

I am staying in Oahu for 5 days and in Maui for another five days... I will try better with college girls rather than hookers, and more if you tell me about trannies...lol

If so, then the Dole family basically had the Hawaiian monarchy overthrown shortly after (what we call) the Spanish-American war.
You'll find a lot of interesting history just in that context.

i went mountain biking there in Oahu with a tour guide recommended to me by my hotel it was fantastic, got right into the rain forest area and did some trekking too.
i did not rate the nightlife to much i found it a little tame inc the strip joints and the clubs there in waikiki.
btw pearl harbour is a great place to visit.
Go look for the polynesian eateries they can cook up some great food if you like that kind of eastern oriental influenced flavour.
Theres a great (american)Italian of all things there too pricey but well worth it.
Its a good place to go but being from the UK i wouldn't go again, i'd of like to have seen Maui while i was there so my advice is do some island hopping.

oh yeah and its literally packed with whores, i bet there pricey too as they go for fat japanese men mostly.

If you're staying on Ohua, definitely do the Polynesian Center for all your traditional entertainment and culture catered to tourists.
Most of the other places on Ohau are half-assed and half-baked and out-of-the-way from each other.
Unless you know of a real Hawaiian family of many generations that can suggest different places to go on Ohau, there are just too many places outside of the Polynesian Center that are just not well done and don't follow the traditions.
