How can an opinion change? If someone is a bad person when they are alive, thats what you've got to work with to form an opinion. Some people may be the most talented whatever, but if this person, commits a terrible crime, again and again, thats a deal breaker.
It is all about Karma.

Just because someone is dead doesn't take away from the crap they did when they were alive.
Being dead does not make someone a saint,
being dead doesn't make anyone talented,
being dead doesn't undo the crap someone did during their life.
Doesn't make them smarter, kinder, more honest, more anything.
Being dead makes someone dead.
the only reason to talk nice to someone in death is to ignore the aftermath of the jerks actions and avoid those that need help recovering from them.
If you want to be nice to the survivors of the deceased, don't say anything to them.
If the dead guy was an asshole your just lying, If the dead guy was a good person your only reminding them of their loss.

Someone really has to be a class 5 Douche-bag for me to talk about them negatively after death. I remember someone telling me how sad it was when Dahmer was killed in prison. Sorry- I just couldn't lose sleep over someone like that getting killed.

Same could be said of guys like Hitler, Saddam Hussein, etc.

But for the most part, no. I may not be sad, but I wont flap my lips about them in a negative way.

I found out the other day that a former boss of mine died back in April of a brain aneurysm. I was shocked to find this news. As I have told people, I still think that he was an idiot at time and made some bad decisions, but I can't over look the fact that he was decent guy deep down and I feel bad for his family and close friend.

So I guess I have spoken to other about him honestly, in both a positive and negative manner.

no, i dont change my mind when a person dies...

if i liked the person, i really feel bad.
but to be honest, i dont give a shit for the most persons who die... just because i dont give a shit either when they are still alive.

f.e.:
i dont care if any soldiers got killed in any war nowadays. (everyone has to decide for himself if he wants to fight in a war or not, and all the soldiers know exactly that they could get killed - ok, i know most americans think otherwise, but thats their oppinion)

i also dont care if young people gettin killed in car accidents (in case they caused the accident) most people are drivin way to fast and dont take care of the other. the bad thing is, that they do not only kill themselves, but often enough innocent people, too.
if these people got killed, i dont feel anything, except that i am glad that these people will no longer be a risk on the streets.

and if this thread is meant to be for Jacko... i doesnt really care at all. i havent listened to his music. im not glad that he passed away, but in the end its just another dead human like any other.

I have about a dead guy who I never met while he was alive. My wife's stepfather was about a year gone when I met her, and she and her whole family liked to talk about what a fantastic guy he was. But the more she told me about him, the more the evidence seemed to contradict the claims, until finally after a bit of provocative questioning from me she said "you know what, he really was an asshole!"
I wish I'd met him while he was alive so I could have told him he was an asshole and let everybody know, but since I didn't I just have to keep my mouth shut when I hear everybody talk about how awesome he was and that's frustrating.

I think a good example of this is Jade Goody (don't know if anyone outside of Ireland or the UK would know who she is though). When she was alive, she was vilified as the ignorant, loud-mouth racist she is, but when she fell ill, all the prejudice and racism was forgotten and she became a media darling up until, and after, her death. To me, though, if someone holds such ignorant views, all the cancer in the world isn't going to make me respect them.

At least she didnt molest children. That makes her a saint compared to micheal jackson.

As for farrah fawcett she was a saint and deserves to be remembered.

B.I.H. Micheal jackson

How can you for forget the greatest entertainer of all-time?!

Michael Jackson impacted so many lives around the world, it's very hard to forget that. Not only did he impact on the airways, but raised hundreds of millions of dollars for starving chilldren around the world. He loved children(maybe a little too much) and willing to do everything he could for them.

Plus, Michael Jackson was acquitted of those charges, so technically it was never proven he molested children. It's just an opinion. It's a fact of what greatness he brought to the world.

When you die, could you say you've done even half the great things Michael has? I doubt it.

Why should I change my opinion of someone because he passed away?

I try not to talk bad about anyone though (except politicians :D) unless I have some kind of a proof that the things I accuse them of are really true.
