I was going to a concert when I was younger and saw a house burning. It was about a week before Thanksgiving.

Last year I was at my dad's house and I saw his neighbor's house burn to the ground. No one was home fortunately.

Well, I was present when I started flaming, a fire which is still uncontained ever burning in my loins....

Yeah, I've seen a handful of fires. In fact, on a couple of occasions, I saw the "breaking story" on the TV news and drove over to check them out.

i have never witnessed any type of building burn down. i remember my neighbours house burnt down when i was a child. i was out of town when this happened so i missed all the action

Twice. The first time I was a kid and the fire department did a controlled burn of a condemned house down the street as a training exercise. It turned into a bit of a block party with all sorts of neighbors coming out with their grills to watch the community eyesore burn to the ground.

The second time was in college and was far more tragic. A small apartment building and the family restaurant next door were completely destroyed. As in, nothing more than a pile of bricks and rubble. I could only watch for a minute... it was too hard to watch the tenants and owners see their life go up in flames.

Yup, I drove by one where I used to live, not my apartment, but it was pretty amazing. The power of nature is astonishing. It was really hot and dry, and the apartment complex just went up.

I have seen a few house fires in my time. Smoke is the worst thing. Except the one time my neighbor's house caught on fire. He was a reported pot dealer who kept stash hid inside his walls. Man, people came from miles around to see that fire. Plus I opened up a hot dog stand right outside. Made a fortune.

Yeah I've seen a bunch of them, Chef, the worst being a wildfire that engulfed the house I lived in (along with several others in the area) when I was 16. There were no fire crews present, so my father, brother and I got on the roof of the house with hoses to try to protect it. Before long the conditions got so hellish we had to bail, and it's a good thing we left when we did.
