Has your favorite team (any sports team) ever made a trade that was an epic win?

The Tigers traded Cameron Maybin, Andrew Miller, and probably some other dudes to the Marlins for Miggy and Dontrelle Willis. Obviously the Willis part was a fail but trading those two clowns for Miggy...epic win.

The Detroit Tigers traded Curtis Granderson to the Yankees for a fish sandwich and $10 worth of Chuck 'E Cheese tokens.

In a 1987 draft day trade, The Seattle Supersonics trade Scottie Pippen to the Chicago Bulls for Olden Polynice.

***fun fact: The Bulls had two lottery picks and originally planned to pick a PF with the first pick and a SF with the second. With that trade, The Bulls no longer needed to pick a SF, and wound up choosing Horace Grant with the 10th pick over their original draft target...

Reggie Miller.

Even crazier is the fact that the Bulls tried to pull another draft day trade with the Sonics a few years later. Having been burned already, the Sonics balked and did not trade for B.J. Armstrong. Instead, the Sonics wound up keeping Shawn Kemp.

Are you joking?

Austin Jackson has a .332/.408/.545 line this year
Curtis Granderson is .245/.348/.502 and is 6 years older and about 10 million more expensive

Not to mention they also got Phil Coke who has a 3.16 era this year and also got Ian Kennedy who they flipped in part to get Max Scherzer who leads AL in Ks...

Id say the Tigers won that trade

Tigers also traded a bunch of players who all washed out on the Marlins (none play there now) for Cabrera

Not my team, but the Marlins got Hanley Ramirez and Anibal Sanchez from Boston for Josh Beckett, Mike Lowell, and Guillermo Mota

This is a pretty recent trade, but I think it has the potential to be seen years down the road as an epic win and a big game changer..

Last year the nationals traded 3 pitching prospects and 1 catcher prospect (all of them are doing well for the A's right now) for starting Oakland A's pitcher Gio Gonzalez... I personally believe gio is the best pitcher for the washington nationals right now and I think when the nationals win the world series (maybe in a year or two) gio will be seen as one of the main guys for helping that happen

Another lopsided trade... one that benefited the Cubs and hurt the Phiilies ... Larry Bowa and Ryne Sandberg to the Cubs for Ivan DeJesus who went to the Phillies.

One that killed the Giants... Jack Clark for Jose Uribe, Dave LaPoint, Gary Rajsich, and David Green. Dave LaPoint pitched only one season with the Giants making 31 starts. Gary Rajsich and David Green didn't even finish the whole 1985 season as both got injured. While Jack Clark helped the Cardinals get to the World Series in 1985 and 1987.

One that is a win for the Giants ... Melky Cabrera for Jonathan Sanchez.

Re: Has your favorite team is sport club corinthians paulista

Sport Club Corinthians Paulista (known only by Corinthians and whose acronym is SCCP) is a Brazilian multi-sport club based in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. Was founded as a football club in September 1, 1910 by a group of day laborers in the neighborhood of Bom Retiro, in the city of São Paulo. Its name was inspired by the Corinthian FC London which toured by Brazil, being called by the Brazilian press of Corinthian's team. It was the first football club to open space for players paulista poor and the second in the country to accept black athletes at the time.[7][8][9]
Although he has worked in other sports over the years, its recognition and its main achievements have been achieved by professional football.[10] the club won 26 titles in the Campeonato Paulista (current record), 5 Brazilian league titles [11], 3 Brazil Cup titles [12], 5 titles in the Torneio Rio-São Paulo (record, alongside Palmeiras and Santos), a Copa Libertadores and was still champion of first World Cup organized by FIFA in 2000.
In football, Corinthians usually act with mastermind in Estádio do Pacaembu. Their historical rivals are the palms, with whom they contest the Derby Paulista, São Paulo, with whom they contest the majestic and the Saints, with whom they contest the classic Alvinegro. Your crowd is known as "Loyal" [13] and their fans are estimated at over 30 million spread throughout Brazil, being the second most popular team in the country, [14] [15] [16] as well as the first in the Southeast and in the State of São Paulo in Brazil.[17]
Is admittedly one of the most important brands in the world of football [18] [19] [20]. 2012 study points the Club Parque São Jorge as the most valuable asset of Brazilian football for the third consecutive year, being the first national Club exceed r $ 1 billion [21] [22]. This study of BDO had international repercussions, by Forbes Magazine [23].
In spite of football have been from always the priority of the Club, Corinthians opened space for other sports throughout its history.[24] the deployment of rowing, in 1933, modified the shield of the party, with the addition of the pair of oars and anchor as they appear today.[25] But the main highlight came in basketball, where the Club enjoyed relative success, especially during the decades of 1950 and 1960, with the conquest of São Paulo, Brazil and even titles South, plus a world runner-up in 1966.[26] the futsal is another sport that yielded to the conquests, Club from the Decade of 1970, between State and national tournaments.-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZYPCsQSFH0&feature=related

Not yet, but we (Manchester United) signed Robin Van Persie, and Shinji Kagawa. And hopefully they'll help us get our 20th EPL title :)

That was a good trade. Gio's turned out to be a bit of a hidden stud in that rotation.

On another note, I'd like to mention the Boston Bruin's recent trade-rapes of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Andrew Raycroft for Tuukka Rask? Delightful. Trading away a Goalie with one good year and one terrible year under his belt for the #1 ranked goalie prospect in the world, who's now about to become our franchise 'tender for possibly the next 10-15 years was a perfect move. Especially when you consider that our short term goaltending didn't suffer one bit while Rask developed in Finland and the AHL/NHL.

Phil Kessel for two high 1sts and a 2nd, which turned into Tyler Seguin, Doug Hamilton and Jared Knight? You-gotta-be-fuckin'-kidding-me. As of right now, a straight up Kessel-for-Seguin trade is pretty even but will be a definite win for Boston within the next 2 years. Throw in the best defensive prospect in the game right now in Hamilton and a center that projects as a nice 2nd line 2-way player in Knight, and Toronto got absolutely fleeced in this deal. The funny part is that some Leafs fans are still in denial about who won.

In August 2009 Spurs paid Portsmouth an undisclosed sum thought to be in the region of 2m for Niko Kranjcar who was a truly gifted midfielder far too good for Portsmouth who had battle relegation the previous season. In the same transfer window we sold them Kevin-Prince Boateng, a young midfielder who never really seemed to be any good in the few games he had for us, for another undisclosed sum, thought to be about 4m. So basically we sold them Boateng for Niko Kranjcar and 2m cash which seemed a mugging at the time.

Hilariously with only three league goals, Boateng still managed to end the season as Pompey's third-top league goalscorer. True, he can look back on his time there with some glee given that he scored a penalty in the FA Cup semi to help knock Spurs out, but ultimately Portsmouth got relegated at the end of 09-10 season and Boateng was sold to Genoa, who then loaned and eventually sold him to Milan without him ever playing a game for them. Remarkably, KPB is now thought of as decent.

As for Niko? Signed as a stopgap for Luka Modric who had broken his leg at the start of the season, Kranjcar was instrumental in getting a vast majority of the points total that helped Tottenham secure 4th spot in the Premier League, as the outstanding form up to the new year and beyond was mostly achieved with a midfield of Lennon-Huddlestone-Palacios-Kranjcar, including two goals in a vital 3-0 win at home to Man City (who came 5th) and the winner in a 2-1 win at Stoke. Though Modric found his way back into the team it was actually centrally at the expense of Palacios and later on when the emerging presence of Gareth Bale may have threatened Niko's chances of starting at left-wing, he found himself covering right-wing when Aaron Lennon suffered a serious injury, so a midfield usually made up of Kranjcar-Huddlestone-Modric-Bale saw out the successful campaign which saw Spurs qualify for the Champions League final qualifying round for the first and as to yet only time in our history.

That was pretty much the peak of Niko's time at White Hart Lane. Though 10-11 featured no consistent first team with Redknapp unsure exactly where to play Rafa van der Vaart, as to who from Huddlestone, Sandro or Palacios should partner Modric in the middle and so on, it was near impossible for Kranjcar to get a game down the flanks at the expense of Bale or Lennon, although he can at least say he got on the pitch in our historic 1-0 win over Milan in the San Siro. 11-12 saw even fewer first team chances with the midfield of Lennon-Parker-Modric-Bale with vdV behind a striker practically picking itself every week, and there was no surprise that Niko moved on that summer - thankfully though, I had gotten to see him score his last goal for Spurs live and in person that February in a thumping 5-0 win over Newcastle in which Niko was awarded a rare start.

Still, for what we got out of him, Kevin-Prince Boateng for Niko Kranjcar and 2m cash was an outstanding bit of business. I had a man crush on Niko too.

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
Red Sox traded Heathcliff Slocomb to the Mariners for Jason Veritek and Derek Lowe. Worked out pretty well in 04. Lowe won the deciding game in all three playoff series that year.
