Handcuffed man tasered 9 times in 14 mins., died.

The tasering sounds quite obviously ridiculous, but I frown on the attempts to try and turn this into a racial incident just because the victim was black and the officer white.

I feel sorry for the deceased man and feel that there is no justice to be done by using this horrible incident as a platform from which to spew anti-white propaganda.

the sad thing is that i'm not shocked at all.

maybe the incident wasn't racist in itself, but think of the context. how would people feel if it was a black guy attacking a white police officer?

the justice department is the biggest racist organization in history. they have achieved a level of segregation for blacks (we all know the prison and crime stats) that the KKK could only dream of.

Fun, fun, fun:

Some interesting citations from the police and coroner reports here (despite the provocative article title):

:dunno:

Just read some of it,just disgusting and totally unjustified. Then they lie about it through their teeth. And sorry about the offended white folks but do you seriously think his being black was not in play here?

reading up on the history of the dept. and the officer, it's even more disturbing than a "routine" taser "incident".

how would people feel if it was a black guy attacking a white police officer?

No one would care. The officer had it coming, everyone would say.

There is not a shred of evidence that indicates this was racially motivated. I go by the laws of this country which say feelings, hunches and conjecture are worthless as evidence.

that's bullshit. the only difference is that the guy would have been dead by a gun instead of a taser. and the officer probably would have gotten a medal. too bad for him that he just killed an unresisting guy on the ground, or should I say too bad for everyone else because nothing is going to happen to him, he'll get two weeks off with pay.

Oh not some thing like this again :( i'm not gonna say anything about how terrible this is and no matter if this was racial. Because last time I was allmost claimed to be nazi lover or something like that. :|

Well, I agree to the extent that there shouldn't be an automatic assumption or interpretation of racism. The problem with situations like this is that there is a history of power relations between blacks and whites in the U.S. and it's hardly benign, yet, unless there is evidence to back up any assertion (and I don't know if there is or not) it's all but impossible to make a valid claim of racism at work without being able to read the officer's mind. Perhaps he is just a sadist thug type of guy and treats all perpetrators/suspects equally bad. Perhaps he acted violently with added gusto and really relished it because the handcuffed guy was black. Or perhaps the guy's color was the ONLY reason he was tasered so much. There needs to be evidence to bring in the racism charges. As it is, based on the limited material I've read about it, it looks like abuse of the taser and brutality are the issues here. Racism, who knows? Maybe or maybe not.

:2 cents:

I concur, Doctor.

I'm racially motivated to NOT live on the other side of town. Can I sue the collective ghetto for mugging me twice and stealing my stuff every so often when I lived over there?

No? Well okay. Then this guy doesnt get to see them, either.

so according to you all people that live in the "ghetto" are there by choice, are criminals, and it's because of their race.

I hope that you are trying to make a joke. that is one of the most ignorant and offensive posts I've heard on this board.

Unbelievable but sadly it is what happens in the American society every day. Some cops go insane because they have no self moderation and no self control as well as because their emotions get over their heads.

Keep telling yourself that the Mexican immigrant attacked by a gang of high school football players in Shenandoah, PA the other week, who were shouting racial slurs and warning his friends "if you don't go back to Mexico, the same thing will happen to you", could have been white. He was beaten to death. He is survived by his American fiancee.

Racial slurs?! That's what we call evidence. So of course that incident in PA was racially motivated. I'm not one of these people who denies racism exists (as you may have suggested). But I do look at the facts. I still hold that there is no evidence of racial bias in the tasing incident. You are letting emotions and stereotypes get the better of you. Show me any evidence and I'll have to rethink my position.

By the way, I do agree that this was a brutal killing, indeed even a murder. It is now up to the judicial system to bring charges. One of the big questions will be whether the "officer" had intent to kill. Whatever happens, I hope serious charges are brought. The officer's badge should ideally mean little to nothing in this incident. No matter who you are, what happened in this case should not be done!

They buried a Polish new immigrant in Poland who just arrived at Vancouver International Airport few months ago. He became delirium after a 14 hours flight from Poland and got lost at the huge airport fore more than 2 hours.

The police tasered the Polish newly arrived immigrant because of his delirium after 18 hours flight and lost and he died after multiple tasering !

Tasering anyone has nothing to do with race but lack of police training, ignorance and excessive force aginst most victims !

I agree, Georges. Who would accept the job in the first place :dunno:
A lawman is about ten jobs all piled into one.

Let's see . .

I have always been amazed by those domestic dispute calls that the cops have to attend to. Imagine that you're a cop being dispatched to a domestic assault call . . . arriving on scene, you hear a M beating the hell out of an F inside the house, you knock on the door and ID yourself . . no answer . . the residence is locked up tight and from the sounds of things, the beating continues. It's your (and other responding / dispatched units) duty to deliver the peace ! You must bust your way into the residence !

By now, most of us know how dangerous it is getting between a domestic dispute. This is a flashpoint as the perp male, in this case, might just blow somebodies head off, including the cops given the opportunity.
The odd thing here is - as the cops kick the door down and rush to restrain the male perp. . . Abra Cadabra :uohs: The bloodied woman crashes one or more of the cops in the back of the head with a skillet  Let go of him !!!
you f'en pigs !!

The other thing that must drive cops absolutely gooney is the slap on the wrist penalty for stuff like burglary, assault (with the intent of bodily harm) etc. etc.
Revolving Door of criminals ! Arrest them one day . . . arrest them the next.

Oh, and finally those POS scumbags that we've all seen at one time or another, who decide that they're gonna attempt to ditch the lawmen of southern Calif . . helicopter and all ! . . after the guy wrecks two cop cars, along with a half a dozen citizens' cars, his tyres blow, the guy is arrested and he's back on the street in short order 2 weeks . . . 2 months.

Personally, I've only had one unfortunate encounter with a lawman, a Calif Highway Patrol in fact.. I was going to file a formal complaint due to his overly aggressive and most dangerous method of his pursuit. However, after a nights rest, I chalked it up and let it go, coming to the conclusion that the CHP officer was green and "rookie- ish".

We all must do as the officer requests, like it or not. Decline or evade the demands of a law enf official and you are asking for trouble. You bet that they can be cranky.

On the whole, there's enough blame to go 'round . . IMO, anyway :dunno:

Fox....EVIDENCE....hello?

I'm gonna need more than bleeding-heart rhetoric here...

Personally, I've only had one unfortunate encounter with a lawman

well you're lucky then. I've probably been pulled over a dozen times, and the only citation I have ever received was when I forgot to turn my headlights on in an area so well lit that I didn't even notice, and got a nice 100 dollar fine for it.

I'll always remember the time that me and a friend were pulled over, we were asked to step out of the vehicle and patted down, the car was searched. the cops didn't find anything, there wasn't anything. and the cops said "Ok. you are free to go" and never told us why they had pulled us over in the first place. were were young and knew to always cooperate with the police, even if it's wrong.

now maybe i'd say let me see a warrant or shove it up your ass, maybe not. maybe I wouldn't want to get tasored. or worse, cuz I've seen a cop reaching for his gun a few times too, that made me stop and think twice.
