I'm a Halo player. There is only a version for the console out now. I hope they will release a PC Version in the near future.

Halo has been released on the PC and Xbox, Halo 2 is thus far an xbox exclusive. I dont see the point of a halo 2 release for the pc since the game is mainly a multiplayer platform and pc multiplayer cant touch on the experience of xbox live, with obvous exception of the unfortunately immature players who habitate there.

Maby you're right. But why it is not a good idea to play a game with a cool plot and a good gameplay like Halo? The multiplayer mode is a nice feature. You can use it or don't. I have played sometimes multiplayer sessions in the past and i have had a lot of fun. I think a Single player version of Halo 2 for PC will be a good sequel of Halo. The xbox game is a cool game in the single player version, so why not for the PC?

Because the single player element of halo 2 is actually amazingly disapointing, its to short, I know i was pissed when I finished it in less than 3 days, and its not an easy game to play again, once youce finished it, thats it. The multiplayer aspect saved halo 2, and given most people who did play halo did so on the xbox, who would buy it for the pc? at least with xbox youve no hardware problems, to high or to low specs, you put that disc in and you play!

Ok, the game is to short. But this is a point that applies for a lot of shooter games. The price for the game and the fun is in no relation. But I will not invest money in a xbox to play Halo. When it is out for PC everybody can play the game and not only the owner of an xbox.
The PC Hardware needs an upgrade every two years. Latest when you have to install a new Service Pack:) Thats a fact. But the xbox is out of business when a new version is available. So you can kick all your expencive games that you've board in that time to garbage. The PC works without high price components that you need for the xbox. You can choose the components for the PC, so you can save money and I can work with it and not only playing. So that is the reason why I will play games like Halo on PC and not on a console. But basically I will not spend my money to Bill Gates. I'm still waiting for the next generation of PS:)

Halo is out for the pc and it has been out for a while halo 2 is comming out for the pc but exclusively to the upcoming Windows Vista operating system.

Not everyone has a PC either, so Im not going to buy a brand new pc to buy a game no matter how good it might be. I bought an xbox for Halo, and now ive upgraded to a 360 which i regret since the games for it have been absolute shit in comparison to the hype we were promised, it seems unless you have a broadband connection then you lose a lot of the games elements. Nor am I going to bin any old console I have just because a new one comes out, i still have my PS1 after all and my xbox found a new home with my sister, since the 360 was backwards compatible what was the point in hoarding it. So what if you can custom build a pc, you might build it with a set game in mind but what happens when a game comes out you cant play cause the specs it needs are outside what you built, it could happen. All pc games lately have also been shit, I havent seen one single PC game in a long time that had any real potential other than showing off whatever flasy graphics the designers were able to put into it.
As for bill gates relationship to the xbox, who gives a shit, its a good console where up until a point the quality of the games countered the fact there werent many as opposed to the 100's of ps2 titles that littered the shelf and offered minimum playability and value for money.
Nor do I care about the PS3, everyone has their own preference over which console they want more, I dont want anything to do with the console and only people who have more money than sense will buy both simply because they think it will make them seem cool to their 15 year old friends.
End of the day the 360 really doesnt have much keeping it afloat, the multiplayer element is probably the only redeeming quality to it. Im far to picky over what I play to spend £50 a pop on a game that will inevitably be shit in single player mode only to be redeemed online, I dont want to spend every night of my life online (granted I do play infrequently) just to get my moneys worth, frankly people who do have my pity. There is more to life that the fucking console you play, the gamer points you have and just how many games you own!

@doa82
It seems that whe have the same opinion. But I have no console and have no preference which of them is the better one. I have played most of the games on my PC and I have no probs with the requierements of a game; and I have no high end pc, only a four year old machine with no special features. PS or xbox is for me not relevant. I give a shit on the name. I have seen the commercials last year on the gamers convention and for me is the new PS3 the better choice. It's a real game console and not a multimedia station were you probably needs to buy the newest shit from Bill Gates to use all the features. It seems, that the PS3 will be the new generation in game consoles and the games, who are coming up for it are a lot more and, what is the most important thing, are more interesting than the games that you can get for the 360. Thats the only thing why I will buy that one and not the 360. You are absolutly right when you say that you only wants to play with it, but I'm not sure if the 360 will be the better choice in the future. And the games from Microsoft, like you can see in the post from superspawn, have the only sense to support other products of Microsoft. So I prefer an independent producer for consoles who use all his programming power for cool games and the gamers interests. In that way, I'm sure that we have the same meaning and we will have more fun to play our favorite game today instead to discuss that problem which is coming up since the first console is out on the market.
