ok, I noticed no one has mentioned much, if anything, about Halo 2 on these forums so I decided to start a thread on it.
As I type this sentence there are 3 day, 12 hours, 13 minutes and 50 seconds left until this game comes out.
I've been waiting for this game to come out for a long time and I began the countdown about a week ago.
I guess my purpose of this thread is this:
1. Who will be getting this game?
2. Who is getting the Limited Collector's Edition?
3. Who has it pre-ordered?
4. Are you gonna be at your local video game store to pick it up at 12:01 am on Nov 9th?
5. and finally, if you are getting it, will you be playing it on seXBox live?
October 19, 2004 - It's a loving facetiousness: we're really excited about Halo 2 also. Microsoft today confirmed that our feelings and your feelings are pretty much everybody's feelings, as the hugely anticipated sequel has already generated 1.5 million pre-orders in the United States alone.
This, Microsoft points out, makes Halo 2 set to bring in more sales in a 24-hour launch period than any single Hollywood blockbuster, ever.
Only a few dates are collectively remembered in gaming history (the Sega Dreamcast's launch on 9/9/99 stands out, of course), but there's no doubt that November 9, 2004 will be one of them. More than 6,000 retailers across the country are already planning to open doors at 12:01 AM on that Tuesday to let the Halo-crazy hordes in. Will you be conveniently "sick" and home from work or school that day?
We're getting close now, folks. Sit tight.

that number, 1.5 million, was released about 2 weeks ago. my guess is it's somewhere around 1.6-1.7 million with all the last minute people going to pre-order it.
