Guns Guns Guns !!!

Dave, we need a variety of guns so we can deal with a variety of vicious nightmare-inducing creatures; ducks, quail, squirrels, and the ever demonic cotton tail rabbit. Die rabbits (and preferably by shotgun blast, but a sniper rifle with superscope is also a good gun to deal with this creature)!!!

If you guys or gal were going buy a .357 revolver. What brands would you consider without getting crazy price wise?

I have not bought a gun in about 8 years.

Thanks!

This is a unit that you probably didn't know existed. :D
Neat huh ? in .357 mag ! Anyway 'nuff of the distraction(s) already !

+1 What ballzano said

Ruger GP 100 represents a good value.

Unless you really know what to look for, I'd accumulate the extra monies needed in order to buy a fresh unit as opposed to "saving money" and buying a used Smithy. :2 cents:

If I wanted to shoot myself in the head what gun would you recommend?

use a 12 gauge shot gun with buck shot; gets to be a little messy but nothing important gets missed like it does so often with hand guns and rifles. Some times you just end up blinded or with a partial lombotomy. Skip the pills and the booze, most of the time you either end up puking, sleeping it off for a few days or spending the rest of your life relearning how to count to ten and to use the bathroom. Personally, I'd go with hanging, little mess to clean up and as an added bonus the family gets an open casket funeral.:D

As for guns, I have a .54 Hawkin rifle.

So what's the deal on used? I was hoping to go to a show soon and possibly pick up a .38 Special. (Forgive my ignorance on the issue. I was never gung-ho gun owner. Always loved 'em, but was never the one to subscribe to Guns-n-Ammo) :dunno: Revolvers are simple, and you know they will never jam. I'll take this one:

Save up the extra cash, and wait to buy a Smith & Wesson...when it comes to guns, you get what you pay for. When it comes to wheel guns, S&W is about the best as far as I'm concerned. I've always had very good luck with the brand, and have nothing bad to say about them. I like the 586/686 model...it's built on a little stronger frame, and handles the +p loads a little better.

this is quite nice, not crazy $ either.. My HK .40 was not much more than that.

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
From reading this thread, I'm amazed that so many people have such a large collection of guns. Why do you need so many? :dunno:

It's not an issue of need. It is an issue of want. I collect WW1 and WW2 military rifles (mostly Lee Enfields). If I want another gun I go and buy it. You could ask the same question of shoes. "Why do you need more shoes, or Why do you need so many cars?" You don't. You want them. Just because a gun can kill a person does not make it evil. A person could be killed by a pencil as easily as a gun, yet pencils aren't regulated. It's just stupid people's unfounded fears manifested into laws that go against both the founding of this great nation and the Constitution. The Socialists, err I mean Democrats don't think a person is smart enough to be trusted with a gun. If they think the average American is too stupid to be trusted, then they should look in the mirrors. Same thing in Britain. The stupid socialists think that they're smarter than everyone else so therefor they should regulate everyone else. It makes me sick.

Hey cool!

Guns guns guns! is what is called through the com in training exercises with fighter planes when they are simulating firing their guns at another plane.

I don't own any guns, but my dad does. He has a 12 gauge and 20 gauge shotgun, a 30.06 rifle, a .22 rifle and pistol and a sweet .357 Magnum with a 7 inch barrel.

Only guns I've ever fired are the M16, which I'm a very good shot with, the 5.56 SAW, and the M2 .50 cal machine gun. That gun is a beast and I can hit anything dead center from 400 yards away with that thing. One cool thing about being in the military, you learn how to shoot with really big guns.

I shot with a m2 many years ago as well as shot with the m60e3, I hit all of my targets which over 350 meters of distance. I also shot with a BARRETT BM 107 intervention rifle in calibre 50BMG 9 years ago, I hit my target which was located at 900 meters. The assault rifle that I shot the most with when I was in the US, was the IMI Galil ARM superior to the M16 and the HK G3.

I love this thread. I don't own a firearm but I"m a huge supporter of the second amendment. I think it's great that people here in the U.S. can choose whether they want to own a firearm or not and not that some government bureaucrat made that choice for them, which for the most part will be negative.

Having said so, I really have my eye on a Taurus PT92, mostly because I'm on a tight budget.
