"GTA 5 been in dev. for over a year".Where do u think the setting will be?

Rockstar been working on Grandtheft 5 for awhile now shooting for 2010. I think the setting is gonna be a foreign country this time. They havent done that yet and that setting always gets speculated upon every time the first rumors start to leak about a new GTA.

I think England or Italy or somewhere like that in present time. I hope they dont get brave with a retro 1950's setting or some shit and disappoint fans. That would be similar to the red flags that get thrown up with the announcment of another Call of duty game set in World War2.

Pretty cool stuff, I must admit. I'm not sure where they'll place it, although an update San Andreas would definitely make me a happy man, although either of those other places would be great too.

A foreign counrty outsitde of U.S.A. sounds pretty good. Italy sounds the best.

A 1950's gta actually sounds pretty awesome to me. Maybe a 1920's one? Not as a main installement though. DLC or a side title using the same engine as 4 or 5. A spin off or dlc revisiting Vice City would be great too well as.

I am not surprised at this news, usually with such a major franchise they will often start planning for the next installment before work on the current game is actually finished and then start work on the next project almost straight after. Where did you hear the rumor exactly? I think they have been hinting for a while (possibly during GTA IV) that they would like to base it somewhere other than USA, so this may be their opportunity.

I'd say a 1930's - 50's era GTA would be cool. I would love to hop out of an old style car with suicide doors and just unload with a tommy gun. They do need to shake some things up with the formula though, it is starting to be extremely repetitive

I agree with you guys about a 50's era setting. However I think it would be a bad time for that cause GTA4 had the gamer doing stuff never before seen in games with present time themes.

Ex. Using the computer in the cop car to look up gangsters etc. Doing the internet browsing in the cafe, dating hookups over the internet that actually work as part of the story, cell phoneing in ambulance/cops to the scene. Stuff like that is very fresh in games.Rockstar is a top notch dev when it comes to innovation.

Going to the 50's era would make that innovation too short lived for this gen. I think they need to run with that stuff for at least one more title.

Its actually not a rumor. Its posted on Teamxbox. A Rockstar games dev-team member talked about it straight up.

I would like 3 separate cities like they did in San Andreas, namely Tokyo, Paris and London would be cool.

Game Informer had gossip about how it might be a Japan setting. Which seems very fitting for a GTA, especially in their terms of satire and sardonic situations.

Yazuka, drugs, human/drug trafficking, territory wars, could bring in Russians and have Niko involved or someone he knows or relative. It could be a prequel like Vice City was to GTA III. Possibilities are endless! I just remember seeing a possible Japanese setting for the next GTA in a Game Informer.

what the fuck you lookin at?
Yea they always suspect London as the location over a year ahead of any official release announcements. One of these times its gonna actually be London. But probably by a different name. Just like GTAIV was blatantly obvious it was New York...they just can't call it new york for copyright shit.

That would be an unbelievably good idea. I loved the 3 cities idea, and sort of wish they would just push the limits here and try to go for multiple cities with GTA IV level of detail or higher.

The series NEEDS to move away from the US now at least for a couple of games in the series. Liberty, Vice and San Andreas, are old news. Yes the games that used those cities might be good. But it IS time to add a breath of fresh air to the locales now. There's more to the world [and world of crime] than just the US. So I hope they do base it in another country. I look forward to it if they fix the fucking shit car and bike physics.

I would love to see the next game set in Europe!

If the PS2 can bring us a game the size of San Andreas, then the PS3 and 360 will be able to do it a lot easier than the PS2 did. But as much as I want a game the size of San An again, I don't see them doing it.

MORE COUNTRYSIDE is what I want to see. I hope they fuck off with all this concrete jungle crap. That gets a little bit boring after a while. Some variety in the locales would be nice [fields, wooded areas, hilly/mountain section, ect].
