it streams music and you can upload your own music (how they don't get in copyright trouble i don't know. well some bands won't allow them to upload their music but not many. wiki that for the list. but still i don't get how)

Grooveshark is an awesome service which I use all the time. You can adjust quality, set up a radio station, select favourites, save playlists, and more all for free. Plus they have an excellent selection of music.

I recommend them.
