I'm not going to rip the keeper. I'm not going to rip England. The fact is that the US and England are back at Square 1. We have to keep our eyes on the prize and take care of business with our next 2 matches. We played with them for 70 of the 90 minutes. They dominated us at the very beginning.

To be fair, if you had a competent keeper it would have been 1-0.
If Howard hadn't been on the other side, it probably would have been 2-1 or 3-1.
England could always take a Chinese Olympic team approach and start training goalkeepers rigorously from a very young age under very questionable living conditions.

Just watched an interview with a german keeper, and he said, well, thing is, that every world cup has a new, different ball to play with and this one is really light and fast so it is subject to flutter a bit in flight, and if it hits the ground in his course, it reacts quite a bit different than other, former balls.
Plus, well the bad thing for keepers in comparison to, say, strikers is:
If a striker misses omce, he gets another shot, and people forget.
If a keeper misses once, the whole game can be lost and everyone hates him.
