If you could have made it to the bar Jagger, the committee toke arguments into consideration.
Freudian slip, BI?? :1orglaugh impdaddy

He argued that Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer and Junior Braithwaite were just as important to reggae as Bob Marley.

Joy Division was on the bubble.............I think tere was hardly any difference between the 14, 15 and 16 seeds and those on the bubble that didn't get in. Janes Addiction was another one.
You never addressed my example of Derek & The Dominoes. How about Traffic?? The Moody Blues??? If I took some time I could think of more that would be better choices than some of the ones in your bracket.
Extremely subjective....as it should be. JMO....
Derek and the Dominoes: One album super group. Traveling Wilburys didn’t get in for same reasons.
Traffic…………same thing. Pretty much super group mix of people who had already made it big.
So what?? Again, depends on the criteria. I guess longevity and being a bunch of nobodies prior to hitting the big time were factors? :dunno:
How about The Doors?? How could any list of the top 64 rock bands of all time not include them? Also, Jefferson Airplane....ZZ Top?
And just wait until Elwood sees that you have the Stones not making the finals!!! LOL....
The Doors is a real omission, I agree.

Please look again..............not only were the Doors in, they were a #5 seed.
Led Zep beat the Stones in the semi finals...what can I say?
Does a band belong in the top 64, if it is only the 5th best band that Clapton was in? :dunno:
Starship/Airplane was on the bubble, but the committee subtracted points for recording the worst song in the history of music. “We built this City on Rock and Roll” was such a big negative; the committee could not overlook it.
ZZ Top was on the bubble, but the committee felt other southern rock bands were more important. The committee felt ZZ Top lacked a signature win.
Any creation of a "best band of all time" bracket is going to have its differences...different people, different criteria. I've actually few arguments against the entire bracket and its results...actually, only one: I would have put in Sonic Youth, and they would have won a few rounds. BUT - I also understand that is my own personal preference, as at the same time, I realize they are hardly anyone's cup of tea. The same goes for The Faces.
But, all and all, a good and intriguing list. My knee jerk reaction is for instance "The Beach Boys over Talking Heads! That's insane!" However...the Beach Boys were actually a good band, especially in the late 1960s. Pet Sounds is a tear jerker, and what was to be Smile produced some great tunes. And while the Heads have a following, it is limited, and their commercial success is also as such. That is only an example...but also one that shows that it is quite easy to see where you guys were coming from.
Love the Clash but really???? Iron Maiden should be in there someplace??? Metallica a 7 seed??? Your girlfriend put this together??? Green Day cant hold Rush's jock strap. The end result was correct Zep against the Beatles I"ll give you love for that. The Smashing Pumpkins Suck on every level.
Yeah no Doors.:dunno:
How about The Doors??
I don't disagree. Elwood would.
