Grandmother arrested for drug charges because bought too much cold medicine

Once again, my beloved Hoosier State is in the news for a not so flattering reason. In order to purchase medicines that contain Pseudoephedrine, you must present an ID to a pharmacist and sign a form that says you will use it as directed. When you do that, they retrieve it for from the back. Even if it is an over the counter drug, you must present ID in order to purchase it. It's the world we live in. She's from Vermillion County, so she should know what it was a problem. I understand that it looks bad when a grandmother is arrested, but technically she broke the law (I didn't know there was one that regulated it). Obviously, she shouldn't have been arrested, but I'm glad the system is in place. If it cuts down on meth use, it's fine with me to inconvenience a few people.

It's about time they start going after this shit. You see them dealing all the time, whether it be while they are walking around the mall very early in the morning, loitering around suspiciously in the bingo halls, or having a late, late super at Denny's at two in the afternoon.
Sure, it starts out with a little bit of extra-strength cough medicine, but next thing you know, grannie is strung out on green tea laced with pure honey. Stop the madness now!

Most old people should be shoved into hot ovens, or sexually exploited for recreational amusement and profit.Wah, wah, wah.

Execute the drug dealers, & sodomize the habitual users for keeping the fucking scumbags in business.

Unfortunately for this lady, many states have passed these laws because of the scumbag POS's out there making crystal meth. It sucks for her, but it's in place for a reason. My dad is a pharmacist, they have people arrested almost daily... meth is a HUGE problem right now.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
This is just one example of why the "War on Drugs" is nothing but a joke. They can bust some grandma buying cold medicine, cause it's JUST above the legal limit. But they can't make a dent in the TONS of cocaine that enter the U.S. through Mexico and they can't track the BILLIONS of $ that pass through the international banking system as a result of drug sales. They can't even stop the flow of automatic weapons that enter the U.S. by way of the Russian/Israeli mob.

This would be funny if it wasn't so pitiful.

The 'war' on drugs is bad, no doubt. A war on meth though, I'm kind of for it. Meth is a cancer. I can't think of one outcome where even if it was legal any one individual or community would be better off. there are good drugs and there are bad drugs. Meth is the baddest.

I agree. They can keep fighting the "war on drugs" as long as they give up on the "war on pot". :1orglaugh

Seriously, though, talk about a waste of tax money. An unwinnable war that defies the oldest law of economics....the law of supply and demand. That includes meth. If someone want to become a meth head, who am I to stop them? Legalize it, tax it, regulate it, take the criminal element out of it. I agree that meth is bad news....no way am I getting involved with the shit but if you want to....go ahead. The present law enforcement method doesn't seem to be working....why don't we pump those tax dollars into preventative drug education efforts instead of battling drug dealers. When drugs are legal, there won't be any more drug dealers.

We can all rest safe tonight knowing that a cold medicine buying grandmother was off the streets. The world was saved that time,...but for how long.

I agree. It may be a little over the top, but anything that makes it harder for the drug dealers/users I am all for it.

The way meth was described to me by someone who has family in the rural flatlands of Ohio sounds a lot like a plague. To say it forces people into making bad choices is an understatement. Individuals drive off the cliff at 90 miles an hour and rural communities take a huge hit. A hit that will have implications for a generation. All this while access to meth is somewhat restricted and full of legal consequences. Legalization of meth will not mean that the consequences of meth addiction will go away. Zombies will be turning into criminals to get the money together to buy a legal drug, that is all.

Like I said, the war on drugs is croc of shit but there are good and bad drugs. Study after study has found that beer is usually the gateway drug to all the others. Meth though, as far as I can see, is the gateway to hell.

This is a clear indication that we need to trim away the excesses in government at once before they have each and very one of us shackled.

Sheesh  The pseudo e isn't even the ''good shit'' and it's still regulated. lol !
