I have a ps3 but I didn't get it yet . Is it really worth playing ? It seems as if it's just one big demo . It looks pretty good though .

Even though there are limitations to what you can do,I still like it.They give you a nice selection of cars and track which look amazingly real.I just don't think its that long cause there is only three classes, and I've already gone thru two of them.

Can you damage or roll the cars in this version?

Nah,no damage or flips

there is an additional "S" class that opens up when you beat the 3 normal classes. i went through the lowest class in one sitting lol :)

but i would not have spent the money on it if i had known the shortcomings... i didn't buy a PS2 and so didn't know that the prologue games aren't just missing some cars but are also missing a lot of features compared to the full game. i definitely recommend renting this one before buying it... there is no damage modeling (will there be ine th final game?), you cannot buy upgrades for teh cars, car tuning is rudimentary and only available after you have completed the "C" class (the lowest), only a few tracks that get old fast, lousy multiplayer options, and it just feels kinda "rough" around the edges. i also hate that sony insisted on not making every wheel compatible with it, i have a nice force-feedback wheel from logitech but it's the "wrong" model so it won't work. given that they could have just included general support for all wheels (like in windows where you calibrate it before use) this is really stupid of them. i guess they wanna help logitech sell more of the newer wheels, but i'm not made of money... i'll wait til the real GT5 comes out to buy a new one, and then only if there are good online options included.

Seems like a good game but I think I'm going to wait for Grid to come out , it looks much better . I tried the demo and the car damage is great .

I haven't played the new installment of GT,but I really loved #3 &#4.The one thing that I can't understand is why are all of the Gran Turismo haters obsessed with the fact that you can't crash and there isn't any car damage?I know that it seems kinda weird for a game that has taken it's realism to a whole 'nother level to leave something like that out,but it really doesn't take away from the overall game play, imo.

Gran Turismo games have never had damage to the cars because of licensing issues. Because GT games use "real" cars they are not allowed to show the cars damaged because the car manufacturers don't want their cars seen in a bad light. Until GT is willing to call a Porsche a "Prosh" you won't see any damage.

Yeah, I read this too, but I never understood it really. Is it just the matter that GT don't wish to pay extra for the rights or something? because you see well known sports cars getting smashed up all the time in films. How are they allowed to do it?

Just wondered.

and yet, on the PC there are plenty of simulators that have both "real" cars and proper damage modeling... not to mention proper AI and physics... gran turismo is a nice arcade racer, but if you want a real simulator try FIA GTR 2 or even the old grand prix legends.

what the fuck you lookin at?
online is a bastard no fucker races fair its just smash ups all race long an no penalties for doing it other wise it a good game till 5 comes out

Thats the way ALL online race games are. Forza 2 was the only game I ever raced online where I didn't have people constantly trying to smash my car. For the most part it was clean racing.

GRID uses real cars, so obviously they have licensing. Yet they show damage!
