A widespread computer attack has hit several US government agencies while some South Korean government websites also appear to be affected.

The US is bound to have some boyos in prison they could release on the condition of working for them. Though best defense is a good offense if its china or whoever doing it should release the hackers and get them to conduct some cyber attacks of there own.

The NYSE was hit this morning too. A lot of this crap comes from Russia (or actually the former Soviet puppet states), China and yeppers, North Korea.

Well my suggestion I think would be very feasible as from all the crap you read America is supposed to be very open to cyber attacks and all that malarky. Something for the media to write about and something for politicians to shift the peoples attention off other more pressing domestic concerns if you ask me. But yep if it really is how its made out to be then trying to just shore up your defenses and becoming immune to them types of attacks will obviously be a massive undertaking and highly costly if not really fully possible. Whereas getting your own professionals to conduct attacks would ensure that said perpetrators would then have to initiate there own defensive measures perhaps dividing and weakening there own ability to launch attacks as they would have to re-prioritise there cyber divisions resources.

Anyone who takes an attack on our computer networks by North Korea seriously is looking at the wrong enemy. China is the one we need to watch out for, the Chinese have a group of elite hackers who hack into other networks in order to gather intelligence on other countries.

Remember when America used to have the best hackers? Now we always get beat out by the Russians, Chinese, and the Koreas. I bet India, Taiwan, and the South Pacific won't be far behind. It's pretty sad. What ever happened to those masses of disgruntled, antisocial, anti-establishment, or awkward kids that we have that are supposed to be good at that? They should have ushered in a golden age for us in that aspect. Did even they get lazy? Come on we can do better than this. We need to get our ass in gear so our people are the ones that are screwing with everybody else and not the other way around. We should do better than everybody else and have our hackers again be at the top. :1orglaugh

Yes I would be more inclined to agree with you on that. Its far easier to pull off, and you can quite easily do it in such a way that the real source of the attacks could quite easily concealed. Well I guess this is the high price we must unfortunately pay for living in such a highly connected society.
