Nobody is going to force you to use the free wifi, if you dont like it dont use it. They aren't taking anything away from you, you'll still be able to use the service provided by your internet provider.
Best point made. I am also leery about the government control and their loss of all of those wonderful phone taxes they heap upon us. It is a massive undertaking and I wonder how they are going to pay for it. Then again, it is infrastructure. Just like our roads and bridges are necessary to keep growing. If it can make things cheaper that can only be good. And like you said, I don't have to use it.
As far as job hunting? It's all web applications now. That's what the state employment services are teaching people and for good reason. It's easier for the employer to match up key words and terms through a scan. Easier for the job hunter to tailor several different resumes and send out proper ones to the proper companies. Sure each employer has dozens coming in each day but the job hunter can spread out over more land in a day.
