Personally, I like it a LOT more than the old way. After a while, because of the old way, I found myself trying Bing instead, but I wasn't too fond of that either. This new Google is the best yet, for me. It seems to work faster...for me. I see I'm pretty much the only one...

i feel ambivalence towards it...tho it did throw me for a loop the first time i used it
Not just here, most of the google users are not with it.They provided the option to switch to basic version but in vain it is resetting to standard,the modified one when that images tab is closed.
It got nothing except that zoom effect and it is really slowing down showing many images at once and still asking for more results like that in twitter

yes, that's annoying me a little too.
Well, it looks like Google has changed their image search back to the ways of old, so I guess they had enough complaints.
I liked it because, as Shayd said before me ^ , the old one (which is back) slows things down. It also seems to fuck with my browser, making it so I can't go back. Sometimes if I click it enough times and fast enough, then it will go back, but sometimes back too far and completely lost where I was before as if I was never there. Other times I have to take the long way around and start the search over again.
Oh well, I assume the majority doesn't have this issue.
