WTF!!!! Anyone know off the top of their head why when using Google Chrome selection boxes sometimes appear and sometimes they don't??

I'm hoping it's not an inherent glitch which it seems like it's the case since it's intermittent...

But any suggestions?? I love Chrome but that shi(r)t pisses me the fark off!!

My friend you probably do have an inherent glitch there with Google Chrome, cant say for sure, as I dont currently have it installed. You have to bear in mind that there will be bugs/glitches as this is NOT currently release software, and still in pre production beta testing as far as I am aware. Google appear to make fixes quickly, take a look at the following blog and official FAQ from google, this may help:

Personally I have discontinued to use it since I had a few problems on my system, but may retry it when the production release appears.

Due to Privacy issues, I'm still sticking to FireFox :)

It's a parsing error. Right now, it's a bug that they haven't patched yet, although it's relatively isolated in terms of appearance.

Chrome has been out in final release version since December. The bugs in the browser aren't pre-production bugs, as the Beta tag was dropped long ago.

Just out of curiosity, what privacy issues are you concerned about? Chrome deals with information the exact same way as any other browser.

Thanks.... It really pisses me off because it's hit or miss when start a page that has box selections and the boxes or circles are there but they aren't drawn..

Either way, I hope Google resolves this pretty quick. I hate running into this in the middle of trying to do something...then have to start IE and start over.

Agreed. Incognito mode with Google Chrome should cover just about all the privacy concerns you have at the browser level IMO.

^^Rather you than me;)

I didn't mean to single you out, I'm literally just curious. Any particular reason? :)

While I can't speak for him, there was a portion of the people who tried Chrome while it was in Beta that believed the sole purpose of the browser was to essentially act as a tool for Google to be able to index site that were protected by passwords (ie being able to pull up a Facebook result for Abe Lincoln), and that was all based on a poorly interpreted TOS agreement for Chrome.

^I'm probably just being paranoid....but I am getting annoyed by Google. I happily use their search engine but that's it: No GMail, no Chrome, no Toolbar, no add-ons, no Cloud apps, just the naked engine.

Well again, I'll have to defer to you on that kind of stuff as all I want to be able to do is see selection boxes or circles where they're supposed to be when they're supposed to be there.

Would seem to be a simple enough issue to resolve IMO.

Ah, fair enough.

If the Chrome info gathering techniques bother you, you can use SRWare Iron, which is the exact same browser minus the info gathering. If they will get lots of add-ons, I'll use it. FF 3.5 is fucking fantastic at this point.

^^Absolutely. FireFox cannot be beaten at this moment in time. As I said in my above post, Google are beginning to get on my nerves:hammer:

I don't get it. What exactly is Google doing that annoys you?

^Yep. Sorry Google - but have fun 'watching';)

I guess it's welcome to the party then for Firefox as Google Chrome's Incognito mode (same as private browsing) has been a part of it's features since maybe it's inception.
