Inept at what exactly? Managing to get some of the most beautiful Glamour models ever to do hardcore porn?
Is that what you mean? I think they have been pretty successful. :dunno:
Bluebird has somehow managed to do it where no one else imagined it or even bothered. They have provided these girls with a platform and infrastructure to take their clothes off, show us their pussy, suck dick and give us all a big fat hard on.
So another words they have more cash than anybody else and are willing to blow it, or at least one rich guy is willing to blow it using women that either don't care about their careers or were naive about the whole situation and are also willing to personally screw him. That's not exactly a talent. That's throwing more money at a situation and hoping it somehow works out when they don't seem to care about the product and their stars are on a path to disaster.
In my world that’s the end of it, just sit back and enjoy the show. Sadly it seems some people just aren’t satisfied and feel the need to sound off for no good reason. I swear it wouldn’t matter who decides to do porn these days somebody somewhere isn’t going to be satisfied whatever happens. Every man and their uncle will have an opinion on something, like who she should work with, who she shouldn’t work with. A problem with the director, the studio, the colour of her fucking dress, what angle the camera should be at, where the money shot should be, what the DVD box cover should look like... bla, bla fucking bla!
It's not like it's just one or two things that are bad or some things here and there that they could improve on. IT'S EVERYTHING. I can't remember a producer that had near their resources that gets so much wrong. Everybody has an opinion, but I don't think it's coincidence that it seems a very great percentage have more a problem with Bluebird as a "production company" than almost any other major studio. That goes for both in product things and out of product management. The fact they spend all that money gives them even less of an excuse.
No I don’t work for them but if you don't like them or Paul Chaplin watch something else it’s that simple, move on. All the petty bickering some people post about them here is quite pathetic really and I don’t understand it. Yes, they may not be perfect and they took a long time to decide on decent payment structure, the girls acting may not be great and the sets may not be perfect but at least they are giving it a bloody good go..... GIVE EM A BLOODY CHANCE!
I would really like to ignore them. I really really would, but unfortunately one of my favorite models and a few others I like now has to work for them. As a person worried about the women in the industry I also just can't ignore the apparent conduct of their glorious leader either. I'm just telling it the way it is about them. Don't blame me for that, blame the truth and their own miserable work and conduct. As long as they are telling the truth and have valid arguments blame the cause of the complainers not the complainers themselves. I don't control what they do. I can't make them stop running themselves in a stupid and incompetent manner. Any suggestions to them by people like me have made have been either conveniently ignored, have been blown off, or they just aren't competent enough or care enough to do anything about it. As far as giving them time they are going to be coming up on three years of existence soon, and not only are they not improving they are actually regressing. Some of the only changes they did, like their new payment and delivery system, they actually took a very bad system...and made it even worse.
It's PORN not a bloody Spielberg Movie and there is plenty of time for improvement surely. I don't see anyone else out there doing anything like this or stumping up any of their cash to get these girls to fuck on camera either. Seriously, did anyone think they would ever see Gemma or Natasha Marley etc doing this? No? Well start thanking Bluebird and Paul Chaplin then for making your dreams come true.
It's not Spielberg, but then nobody else in the industry is claiming they are going way above and beyond like BlueBird. Not only are they claiming their philosophy is coming up with great elaborate productions they are failing at it.
Those other people aren't doing it because they either know what they are doing and do it better or they are at least smart enough to know they shouldn't blowing that much cash just so they can pay women to personally screw them or just don't have that cash in the first place. Have you ever considered that having the women do full hardcore it in the crappy manner they are doing it is going to be worse then not having them perform hardcore it at all?
Just an example of that last point, Gemma's first hardcore movie should have been considered one of their premiere products they are ever going to put out. If they are really willing to blow money like they seem willing to do they should have spared no expense at it. It should have been marketed way more than it did, and told people about it better and sooner. They should have brought on industry professionals to do the camera work and the post shooting production, or at least people a hell of a lot better than they have doing that now. They should have had a better industry writer write the movie and have Gemma approve of the script, even if they had to dig back to a time when porn had semi-decent people writing their movies. They should have advertised it more. They should be promoting Gemma a lot more than they are in avenues that actually help, especially considering they are one of the few that have the cash to promote people like studios used to do for their stars in the past. A few industry parties hare and there and a convention don't do crap. They shouldn't have took so long to produce it and get it out. There is no excuse for it taking years to get it out. They should have brought in the best male talent that not only was good at performing, nice guys, and decent looking, but had Gemma herself go and then hand pick every one she was going to work with to get people she really liked and to make the scenes great. They should have her in much more than just one scene considering it's her big debut movie. They should have had it ready to go out on disc months in advance of the date it was going to come out. They should have had an online payment option a lot better than they do now years ago. They should have been communicating and listening to their fans and especially Gemma's fans years ago. Out of just that one little point about her going hardcore badly can be worse than not at all, I can quickly come up with all these things they did wrong they could have did a lot better considering their resources, many of them just involving caring more and not necessarily throwing more cash at it. I think all my complaints are valid. All the rest of their major contract performers should get similar treatment.
I'm not a certified business professional or even really an industry person and I can come up will all those commons sense things they could have done in that short amount of time. They have no excuse.
Instead what we get looks like a half-assed effort by people that don't care that much, with Gemma's career in the balance.
I was hoping to find people here that shared my enthusiasm for what Bluebird are trying to achieve but I guess I failed there. Gemma's scene comes out tonight; watch it or not it makes no difference to me. I will be and all the future productions they release and I am going to enjoy them too. :drool1:
Do you know what the sad part of it is? When Bluebird first was starting and announcing getting in the business they actually had a large amount of goodwill coming their way. It doesn't seem that way now of course, but the feeling seemed possitive then. The fans were more than willing to give them a chance, and they did....
....Then came the deceptions, the perpetual lateness, the crappy production for the cost, the lack of willingness to take any criticism, the spin doctoring by them, the question deflecting, the cutting of product lines, them thinking we would ever want to see Chaplin on film for some reason, the terrible product delivery methods, and worse of all was their rude behavior to people that finally called them out on it, and treating the people that once gave them goodwill like crap. That includes their strong arm tactics against people that had even the slightest criticism at other messageboards were they have influence and now especially their own. They pretty much went out of their way to sour the relationship between them and potential fans of their material.
The thing is I really want what Gemma does to turn out great. I really really do. It would make me happy. I would rather her stuff blow the minds of the industry and it's fans. I would really like that and hope for it. It's just not going to happen. What she doesn't might not even be good at all at this rate.
