Gears of War 3

If I still had a 360 I would probably get it, just because I enjoyed the first two. However, I can live without it after 3 installments. I'm actually more disappointed at not being able to play Mass Effect 2.

Holy shit, I didn't know Gears 3 was coming. I'll admit I haven't played the multiplayer in a long time but I like the story of the Gears series so I definitely want to check out the final installment. The trailer looks good, I hope it's an indicator that female Gears are going to be playable.

i seen the trailor it looks good then i had to bitch slap my friend cus he was all excited over the fact there is a chick in gears of war now i told hold to put down his joystick and check out freeones

I read that Microsoft asked them (probably told them) to release it in April because of other games (specifically Halo: Reach) coming out this year. Release dates could always change though.

Don't really understand why people are getting so excited for yet another trailer with zero scenes of actual gameplay.

I'm sure it will be good, but c'mon,I'm getting sick of this shit where they throw up a trailer of one long cut scene.:lame:

They did that same thing with a game that's coming out later this year called Vanquish. How are we really supposed to get excited for a game when we don't see and gameplay elements in the trailer?

I think you're valid when it comes to a game like Vanquish because it's a new IP and therefore nothing else is known about it. However I think that you're way off base when it comes to a game like Gears of War 3, considering that the fan base already knows what the core gameplay is.

You already know what 50% of the game is going to be like based on the games that came before it. The other 50% you'll find out later on at E3 or something. I'd say about 90% of people have already decided if they're going to buy the game or not just by the fact that they've already played the first and second game. Same thing happened with God of War 3, Halo 3, Modern Warfare 2, Mass Effect 2 etc..... Sequel announcement trailers are mostly effective towards the players that they already have. Any players they don't have, it's really not gonna be too much trouble to play the originals to see if you like it.

A new IP like Vanquish doesn't have that luxury and would benefit a great deal from actual gameplay footage.

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
I'll rent it. I got burned out on the gears series with gears 2. So I'll rent it, run the campaign and play some multi. But the first bit of bullshit I find in the multi, I'm sending it back immediately! So really the first match I play online will no doubt be my last. Gears multiplayer is plagued with so much trash, I can't see how the fuckin game can even run. Makes MW2 seem like perfection in comparison.

If they can get the multiplayer to work right it should be great. I'll probably buy it, and I bet I'll regret it all over again.

This is why I'll never buy the third one. I bought 2, played the shit outta it even through all the crap, and I got to the point I couldn't even stomach picking the game up again. Still am at that point.

Say for the sake of argument that gears 3 online is truly awesome. No lag, no glitches, no host advantage...what am I talking about? Those are staples to the gears franchise
