Don't really understand why people are getting so excited for yet another trailer with zero scenes of actual gameplay.
I'm sure it will be good, but c'mon,I'm getting sick of this shit where they throw up a trailer of one long cut scene.:lame:
They did that same thing with a game that's coming out later this year called Vanquish. How are we really supposed to get excited for a game when we don't see and gameplay elements in the trailer?
I think you're valid when it comes to a game like Vanquish because it's a new IP and therefore nothing else is known about it. However I think that you're way off base when it comes to a game like Gears of War 3, considering that the fan base already knows what the core gameplay is.
You already know what 50% of the game is going to be like based on the games that came before it. The other 50% you'll find out later on at E3 or something. I'd say about 90% of people have already decided if they're going to buy the game or not just by the fact that they've already played the first and second game. Same thing happened with God of War 3, Halo 3, Modern Warfare 2, Mass Effect 2 etc..... Sequel announcement trailers are mostly effective towards the players that they already have. Any players they don't have, it's really not gonna be too much trouble to play the originals to see if you like it.
A new IP like Vanquish doesn't have that luxury and would benefit a great deal from actual gameplay footage.
