Gas prices where you are?

Gas at the local Costco has been $3.99 for the past 2 or 3 weeks, but elsewhere it's anywhere between $4.12 and $4.30 a gallon.

$3.79/gallon. I heard that just across the state line (in SC) one can get gas about 40 cents cheaper. Wondering if it's worth the drive...

There used to be a Shell station in SF when gas prices first started getting ridiculously high back in like 2005-2006 that refused to absorb the price increases, but instead passed it on to their customers. As a result, gas at that Shell was at least $.50 cents more expensive than at the Chevron across the street, or less than 100' away, which already had the reputation of being the most expensive gas in town. What a shock it was when, 6 months later, the Shell station closed. Actually, the shocking part was that it remained open for 6 months.

I know this makes me unpopular, but I really hope gas hits 10$ a gallon in the United States. That is the only thing in the world that is going to drive the American people, and, hopefully that pushes others in the world, to make absolute demands on their government to advance technology to make cars and homes more efficient. To develop public transportation systems, and create bike lanes.

The technology exists, it is just too costly because no one will adopt it.

Gas here is about 3.97$ currently.

I'm watching some specialist videos
Around London it is about £1.40 a litre
1 US Gallon = 3.7854 Litres
£1 = $1.61

Which makes it $8.53/Gallon

I don't agree with this line of thinking anymore. I do not think that any government cares about the cost of oil, or what it does to its people. We have been told to limit our consumption of oil for years. They even had those commercials urging people to lower the thermostat in their house. What do we get for it? Nothing. Even when there is a surplus in the oil supply, they raise the price. When looking to get a good price for heating oil this year, I found that the company that has the lowest price per gallon also locks me into buying a certain amount. They set my 9 month, that's right, 9 month contract term, not even a full year amount at 750 gallons. They also say that the contract stipulates that I must buy the 750 gallons in the 9 month timeframe or I will have broken the contract and will owe them the amount due for any undelivered gallons plus a penalty. If there is a hurricane, the price goes up, if there is a flood the price goes up, if there is a drought, the price goes up. They set the price and unless you are able to walk to work, you have to pay. And imagine this, if everything were to be run by mass transit, what do you think would happen to the price of the tickets? They would skyrocket. If the oil companies are not getting their money from the general public at the pump, then they will raise the price of oil even further, and that would then be reflected in our mass transit passes. Anyway, gas is between $4.05-$4.20 per gallon for regular where I am.

a ski mask and a pistol.

That reminds me of an old line by Richard Pryor: "In America you can get something to eat 24 hours a day, as long as you have some money... or a pistol."

Where I live: $3.59 for regular and $3.85 for premium.
