This is going to be a bit of criticism on the Flash video galleries here on freeones, as well as a bug report on using MyFO points. Noticing a Flash video gallery of Karina Hart on your main page I clicked on it. This is where it takes me:
http://flv.freeones.com/k_babes/Karina_Hart/810/
It's a one minute trailer clip of her doing things in a bath. I watch it, but I have no intention of downloading it. Why use 100 MyFO points for a minute long trailer that I could easily get anywhere around the net in her sample video galleries?
Then my hand slips and I happen to accidentally middle-click on the "Click here to download this video to your PC" link. What happens? Immediately I am presented with a download dialog of that video. I'm thinking "Oh no. Did it just take 100 points off my account without warning?" I canceled the download and checked the account. Yes, it did indeed deduct 100 points right then and there.
So... I'm trying to make the best of it and go to the gallery again and this time download the video. I left-click on the download link and this time I am presented with a dialog telling me to consider before I spend 100 points. So it's the middle-clicking that foiled that warning dialog and just went straight to the point. This was the bug here. I used an old version of Firefox though (3.0.19). That might have to do with it.
Now on to the criticism:
Then I actually download that video and watch it, hoping that what you see is really not what you get. Hoping that the actual downloaded video is much longer than that trailer. At least the points didn't get deducted again as I started the download. But what do you know: even the downloaded version of that video is only that extremely short clip of Karina that I had just seen in 480x360 resolution. Now I am really starting to feel very insulted. Gathering 100 freeones points doesn't exactly happen in a flip of a switch, you seriously can't expect for us to buy one minute trailer videos at that price! Well, you do get a pretty large one-time point increase at 100 posts, but after that points are really something that you have to work on. I'm not really willing to throw points away when I have them.
Now, I have seen much longer videos on flv.freeones.com as well. I'm just wondering why you put these minute-long trailer clips in the mix at all? Completely useless. I expect to get at least 20 minutes worth of video of my favorite model at that price, preferably in a better resolution as well.
This fixed pricing system is really bad. You should seriously adjust it according to the video length. I already answered a survey on 7.2.2010 telling you something to a similar effect. I saved those survey answers to my computer as well. This is what I had to say then:
"What functionalities or features do you think are missing on the Flash Videos?
It's a bit unclear what the length of the final downloaded video will be. Are they only in the order of a couple of minutes (in which case the 100 MyFO points on them is ridiculously overpriced)?"
It seems that my comment on the price was ignored.
In all honesty I have to say that this is the first really major irritating thing that I've run into since signing up here. Most of the time things have worked and all other bugs have been resolved in a timely manner. I just hope you will consider the pricing vs. video length in the future.
One more thing though... "You will be debited only once when a gallery has more videos." That was said in the warning then trying to buy the gallery. Is it possible that there could be more videos afterwards in that bought gallery? That would make it somewhat better.. but not by much. I want to immediately see what I get for my points.
