Your assuming she would have been willing to do anything else at all if she didn't get her contract. Not everybody wants to go the gonzo route. For the vast majority of those people it doesn't work out in the long run either. While she won’t make as much money in as short amount of time this way, it’s also a little more likely she won’t burn out as fast either. Plus it has other benefits like getting more for less work and more say in who you work with. I wouldn’t want to screw every loser some director wanted to put my with either.
She came to town, got an agency, and presented herself to the market. She
would have gone the gonzo route if that's all that materialized. Instead DP stepped in and seized on this girl. Do you think she told her agency when she showed up
"..I'll only sign a lucrative contract.. That's the only way I'll work.." They would have thrown her out of the office. You can't assume that a 18-19 year old porn noob knows anything about how the business works, actually cares, or what she expects going into it. Very, very few girls have it turn out this way for them. There is no way, realistically, she would have demanded or anticipated this happening. You're putting the cart before the horse.
She may not burn out as fast, as you say, in actual time, but it is much more likely she will end up doing alot less actual shooting. Her library will be much smaller. This girl could have picked whoever she wanted to work with regardless of her being an independent or contract girl. Yeah, she'll get more money under contract, alot more. Good for her. That doesn't have anything to do with my original point though, and again - cart before the horse. I wasn't concerned about how much money she'll be making. Getting a contract in that industry is like hitting the lottery for the girl. That won't help us.
