once upon a time I had a landline and I stopped answering it due to 8 telemarketing calls a day selling construction services
I established a second landline to use regularly only to have that one inundated with those shitty people again after a year- its as bad as the original phone which I still have
I tried being nice. I tried telling them I am a contractor. Finally I told them to go to a residence my ****** moved from in 1968.
I would give them the info and then the telemarketer would have a supervisor call back 30 mins later to confirm and even more call to set the meeting up again and the sucker contractor would call when he was on his way. He would call when he was outfront and call again when people not their or people not know anything about the appt.
Finally I would clue him in and tell him to not accept addresses and phone numbers from his sources as I had a policy of messing around with them
some were very angry driving 45 mins for a bogus apt- I simply told him my new policy and if he wanted to have a repeat performance please do call to sell me stuff.
Other companies called the next day and I did the same
Now some have my phone number linked w the wrong address when b 4 they had my phone and address
Now I tell them my policy to start with and 1 month later I will remember the voice & they call again. Frequently they start with a story that they called a year ago and we talked about projects- very frustrating
I am on the do not call list- I worked a few days telemarketing and telling them to take me off their co list does not work and numbers are all over many times over and literally thousands of slip of paper with lists- the lowly worker could not do it if he wanted
The owner of the company might be able to remove from the cpu system those who use them.
Those trainees not on a computer calling use the fuckin paper lists. I frequently would call someone only to be told someone called an hour earlier.
